PUTELLAS FIRES WIDE
Like two years ago, another Spanish goal will almost certainly kill the game off, and Putellas is allowed to shoot from the edge of the penalty area, she just can't get enough bend on the ball.

PENALTY?
The handball shouts are quickly waved away, but it's a England's first chance of the half.
Again it comes from tireless pressing after an overhit pass for Russo. England swarm the Spanish defence and shuffle the ball to Russo in the penalty area but she's surrounded and her shot deflects harmlessly.

FIRST CHANCE
Del Castillo jinks past the defence into the penalty area and lays it off to Bonmati, whose shot is straight at Hampton.

NORMAL SERVICE RESUMED
It's been a familiar start to the half with Spain controlling the ball and England defending resolutely.

SECOND HALF UNDERWAY

45 TO GO?
England can take heart from the fact that they did open up Spain even with that meagre share of possession, but as the players return to the pitch they must be more assertive in the middle of the park and more clinical in the final third.

HALF-TIME: ENGLAND 0-1 SPAIN
England must be better in the second half. They've had their chances and could've taken the lead twice, but most of the game has taken place in Hannah Hampton's half of the pitch and that needs to change.
45'
ONE ADDED MINUTE
The James stoppage is the only one of note and this should pass uneventfully.
42'
IMMEDIATE IMPACT
This is better! Kelly takes the ball on the left with untouched grass in from of her and drives at Batlle, with the defender indecisive on whether to dive in or hold off.
Eventually support arrives, forcing Kelly to open fire from the edge of the penalty and the shot passes wide.

HERO'S RETURN
Sarina Wiegman wouldn't have wanted to use Chloe Kelly this early, but the best impact sub of the tournament has joined the fray.

JAMES DOWN
The latest Spanish attack only stops at a price - Lauren James is sat off on the turf holding her ankle and doesn't seem able to continue.
36'
LOCKING DOWN?
This is a tough watch for England fans. The second quarter of the match has been all Spain, at this stage getting to half-time only 1-0 down will be a win for the Lionesses.
33'
THREE IN A ROW?
It's the third time in three matches that England have fallen behind and they're still alive and kicking - though against Italy they were creating much more.
However, for now they just need to keep it at 1-0, as Del Castillo most finds Gonzalez in the six yard box.
30'
RE-ASSERTING CONTROL
That didn't last long. The Spanish are suffocating England in and out of possession and look the more likely side to score next.
27'
PERFECT RESPONSE
It's the fourth time in three years that Spain have taken the lead in a major final against England.
However, the Lionesses have clicked up a gear.

GOAL! ENGLAND 0-1 SPAIN (CALDENTEY)
It's the first time Spain have full hit their stride and it's cost England. Bonmati seemed to have run up a dead end on the right, yet dragged three defenders out of position leading space for Athenea del Castillo to burst into the box and find Ona Batlle.
She produced a fantastic cross met by Mariona Caldentey who heads past a powerless Hampton and England are in a familiar position.

HAD TO SCORE!
Though all credit must go to Cata Coll for a phenomenal save. James leads the England press and forces Spain into a mistake deep in their own penalty area, meaning the ball breaks for Hemp and she has a shooting chance at point-blank range.
However, Coll reacted brilliantly to sprint out, spread herself wide and block the shot.
15'
GAME SETTLING?
Spain have had more shots and possession yet the better chances have fallen England's way so far.
12'
LOCK IN LAUREN!
It's the second time Lauren James has miscontrolled the ball in space in the penalty area - though this time the flag goes up afterwards.
It was another impressive break by England who had a three-on-two for a split second, the shooting angle just never opened up for Hemp.
