Roy Hodgson's side are aiming to round off a convincing qualifying campaign with a 10th victory to complete their perfect record. With just three goals conceded, this campaign has so far provided the ideal response to last summer's disastrous World Cup campaign in Brazil. Okay, so England's opponents have been fairly underwhelming, but the consistency shown by Hodgson's side has been very impressive. This final match represents the opportunity for other players to be given the chance to perform ahead of the tournament next summer.

Lithuania coach Igoris Pankratjevas: "It was a positive result for us [a 1-1 draw with Slovenia] due to the fact that we played with a disciplined defence and all played very selflessly. I am happy because the team did not give in, because to concede a goal just before the end of the first half is not easy psychologically. During the break I told the players we will have our chance. Our young team was playing against strong opponents and gained good experience."

England manager Roy Hodgson: "There isn't much time for people to show what they can do. These are players who we think are going to be important, who we trust, and I believe we'll still be good enough to win the game. I want to find out that these players are good enough to be in the squad."

England manager Roy Hodgson has elected to ring the changes. He makes eight changes from the side's 2-0 win over Estonia on Friday. Hodgson has left Joe Hart, Wayne Rooney, Gary Cahill, Michael Carrick and James Milner at home. Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland makes his first competitive start for the senior side while Phil Jagielka wears the captain's armband. Phil Jones and Jonjo Shelvey are also given starting berths but Theo Walcott must do with a spot on the bench.
