30'
A De Sciglio cross from the left is half-brought down by Pelle in the box and runs agonisingly close to Eder, who has no time to react before it drifts out of play.
28'
A rare Italy corner is played short and cleared without the Norway defence ever having to face a cross, to audible groans from the Stadio Olimpico.
27'
Norway, predictably, are now camping all 11 men inside their own half when Italy have the ball. Looking at the red masses it's easy to see why they've conceded just eight goals in nine qualifying matches.
25'
The early fluency of Italy's attacking play had fizzled out prior to that Tettey goal and at present the only idea appears to be to fire the ball at Pelle from range. It's not working.

GOAL! Italy 0-1 Norway. Out of nothing, Per-Mathias Hogmo's men have the goal they so desperately need. A free-kick from just inside the Italy half is half-cleared out to Tettey, and the Norwich City midfielder meets it left-footed with a superb low strike that flies through a mass of bodies and past Buffon. Huge goal.
22'
Montolivo again looks up from the base of midfield and tries to release Pelle with a ball floated over the top, but his placement is poor and Nyland reacts quickly to claim.
20'
Concern of a different kind for Norway as Skjelbred stays down in visible pain after a tackle from De Sciglio, but the Hertha midfielder is soon back on his feet.
19'
A speculative Barzagli ball forward is picked off and as Johansen tries to lead a Norway counter, Pelle comes in from the side to trip him. No booking.
17'
Montolivo gets his foot on the ball 30 yards out and attempts an audacious through ball that runs just slightly too far ahead of Pelle before running through to Nyland.
16'
First productive attack for Norway as a neat one-two sends Elabdellaoui running down the right flank, but Bonucci stoops to head away his cross.
14'
Wary of the early pressure Italy have exerted, Norway look content to slow the play down and circulate the ball around the back four. The first forward-looking pass, however, sees the hosts win it back.
12'
CHANCE: Another worrying moment for Norway as Florenzi dashes to the byeline and hooks a dangerous cross in from the right that Pelle is only prevented from heading in by the alert Hovland.
11'
Norway manage to work the ball into the feet of Soderlund for the first time but his space is soon strangled by nearby Italian defenders and the ball runs away from him.
9'
Well that could have been special. A scrappy exchange sends the ball spinning into the air above Eder and when it drops, the Sampdoria striker meets it with a clean volley that looks goal-bound until it strikes Forren and goes out for a corner that comes to nothing.
7'
Norway stabilise with their first spell of sustained possession but can find no way to penetrate the Italy defence, and in the end a hopeful lofted pass runs straight through to Buffon.
5'
Half-chance for Italy as an attempted Norway clearance falls to the feet of Soriano, who races forward but blazes his long-range shot well over Nyland's crossbar.
3'
Italy's full-backs are getting themselves involved early and this time Darmian clips a sharp pass into the feet of Eder who tries to play Pelle in behind with his first touch, but Forren makes a crucial interception.
2'
CHANCE: Italy begin with purpose and drive, working the ball out to the right where De Sciglio clips an inviting cross in and Pelle heads just wide of Nyland's goal. Ominous for Norway.

Italy get us under way, attacking from left to right.
19:40
The teams are out on the pitch at a wet and windy Stadio Olimpico and the assembled masses join the Italy players for a rousing rendition of the national anthem. Not long until kick-off now...
19:35
Elsewhere, a catalogue of midfield absentees for Italy means that Riccardo Montolivo starts his first Azzurri game since a goalless draw at home to Republic of Ireland in May 2014.
