Hello and welcome to LIVE commentary of Wales vs. Portugal in the European Championship semi-finals (I know, it didn’t feel right writing Wales either!). I’ll be bringing you build-up over the next hour, followed by full text commentary of the game.

The final whistle goes and Cristiano Ronaldo screams to the heavens in celebration. Portugal are into the final of the European Championship, thanks in no small part to the efforts of their star man tonight. The Wales players are down on their haunches, with some breaking down in tears at the disappointment of it all, but it's hard to argue with the result on the night. In Lyon it finishes Wales 0, Portugal 2.

Beep, beep, beeeep!

There's no cherry on top for Ronaldo, whose free-kick efforts cannons into the Welsh wall. This game is all over, with Portugal heading through to the final and Wales leaving the tournament with their heads held high.

Allen gives away a foul on the edge of the area and is fortunate to escape a second yellow. That's kind officiating from the ref.

There will be three minutes of added time, during which Wales need to find two goals. The travelling Welsh fans are in fine voice, but they are saying goodbye rather than offering up vain hope of a comeback.

Ronaldo toys with his full-back before teasing a pass through to Moutinho, who in turn finds Quaresma. Wales aren't able to get hold of the ball, let alone find two goals to force extra-time.

A high boot from Bale shows his frustration and he earns a yellow card for his troubles.

Nani has been good tonight and gets a deserved rest ahead of what looks likely to be a start in Sunday's final in Paris.

Ronaldo gets in behind the Wales defence and rounds the goalkeeper, but the angle is extremely tight and he can only find the side-netting.

Bale's free-kick crashed into the wall and hope is beginning to fade for Wales.

Moutinho snuck on for Portugal a few moments ago - the perfect player to see out this sort of game.

Bale is felled and the free-kick is in shooting range for the first time.

Vokes can't get out of the way of Ashley Williams' shot, but it wasn't on target so the defender lets his team-mate off.

A stunning strike by Bale fizzes towards the Portugal goal and draws an excellent save out of Patricio.

Nani tried to force Hennessey over the line with the ball in his grasp, but the keeper was having none of it.

Wales give the ball away and Danilo has a great chance to make it 3-0. Hennessey makes the save, but it trickles through his legs and forces the stopper into a moment of panic to prevent Nani bundling the loose ball over the line.

Bale has a go from range as the ball drops nicely on to his left foot, but it's a comfortable save once again for the keeper.
