Well, that wasn't the most enthralling of Copa del Rey semi finals, but Barcelona just about got the job done, with Suarez's goal the difference between the two sides. Valencia will be pleased that they are still in the tie ahead of next week's second leg at the Mestalla, and they didn't even play that well.

Messi sends another freekick towards the Valencia goal (he must have had about five or six), but Jaume makes the relatively simple save. It was straight at the Valencia keeper.

Just as Valencia looked set to cause some problems for Barcelona on the counter, committing bodies forward, Umtiti comes across, makes the interception and passes out.

CILLESSEN HAD TO GET THERE! Wow! The Barcelona goalkeeper came about 25 yards off his line and almost gets rounded by Mina, but he just about gets a foot on the ball in the slide tackle.

Coquelin has been fairly impressive for Valencia this evening. The former Arsenal man looks to have settled rather quickly into life at his new club. He's been one of their better players.

Is there time for Valencia to create one real goalscoring opportunity? Or can Barcelona grab a second goal which would really swing this tie in their favour ahead of the second leg?

I may have cursed Umtiti, because just moments ago he got caught on the ball and ended up pushing Maksimovic into the advertising hoardings. No foul awarded, though.

Umtiti has picked up where he left off since returning from injury. The Frenchman hasn't had all that much to do over the course of the match tonight, but what he has done has been great.

Valencia are now giving this a go. I suspect that they might actually be content with a 1-0 defeat ahead of next week's second leg, but a 1-1 draw and an away goal would be even better.

This change should have been made a long time ago. Mina comes on.

Coutinho was somewhat underwhelming at the weekend, but the former Liverpool man has made a difference since coming off the bench this evening. He's linking up well.

ALCACER SHOOTS! That was a good try from the Barcelona sub against his former team, but Jaume watched it come through the bodies and makes the save, conceding a corner.

JUST OVER! Messi is given another freekick opportunity, and this was his closest one yet. The Argentine got his shot up and over the wall, but the ball flashes just over the crossbar.

This should give Barcelona more of a focal point in attack.
