Liverpool are back on the trophy trail this weekend when they face Crystal Palace in the FA Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday. The Premier League champions collide with the FA Cup holders in English football's traditional curtain raiser, and the press conference was unsurprisingly dominated by transfer talk. Arne Slot has already welcomed in some expensive additions this summer window.

Arne Slot sparked more excitement at Liverpool by indicating that the club is not done with their summer spending just yet.
The Reds have already spent big to bring in the likes of Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, while their pursuit to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United is well documented.
Slot did not rule out further additions ahead of the FA Community Shield clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday – live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
He told the media: "We think we already have a lot of attacking power in our team. I think about Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa, Hugo Ekitike, Mo Salah, Jeremie Frimpong, who can play as a right-winger, and Florian Wirtz who can play as a left-winger.
"I already feel I have a lot of attacking options in my squad, but, always as a club, we are looking at the chances in the market, but that can also be in the midfield and the last line."
The Alexander Isak saga has been dominating much of the column inches so far this summer, while Darwin Nunez appears to be heading in the opposite direction to Al Hilal.

Slot was unsurprisingly tight-lipped regarding Isak, but revealed that Nunez may not be a Liverpool player once the window shuts.
"As you know, from me and I think every manager works like this, you never talk about players that are not yours," he explained, in reference to Isak.
"I can talk about Hugo [Ekitike], who we have signed and [who has] done really well until now.

"We are very happy with the squad and have every reason to be happy because we won the league last season. Okay, players left, but we brought players in as well and the youngsters are doing good.
"At this moment of time, Darwin might leave, indeed, but things are not signed so we need to wait a few days until that is completely done, but there is indeed a chance he is going to leave."
In terms of the show-piece at Wembley, Slot highlighted the potential boost of winning a trophy so early in the season.
Palace have been a recent thorn in their side, with The Reds only managing two wins in the last six meetings between the two sides across all competitions.
He continued: "Normally you have to play numerous games before you can win something. If it's the League Cup, FA Cup, let alone [the] Premier League or Champions League, normally you win something at the end of the season.
"Now we have a chance to win something at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately, we face a very good Crystal Palace that have been very difficult to win against for us, because we played 1-1 against them in the last game of the season.
"They showed in the last final – and even in the semi-final, by the way, as well – how difficult it is to win a one-off game [against] them. I think most of the players that they have are still there, so even more reason to know what a difficult team it is to play against."
