Internazionale 2-2 Bayern Munich: UEFA Champions League result as Inter go through 4-3 on aggregate

This season's final is at Bayern's Allianz Arena. What could possibly go wrong? Oh man, imagine the total shame and trauma of this – I bet this bothers these lads on a daily.

Is, of course, a repeat of the 2010 final, won easily by Jose Mourinho's Inter.

Bayern are without Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala. I can't say I'd trust the first of those to perform on a night like tonight, but the others are colossal misses and very possibly the difference between winning this trophy and not.

Will fancy their midfield can control this game – Kimmich is, still, a versatile full-back rather than someone able to dominate at this level, while Muller and Goretzka have seen better days. And behind them, Laimer is not a full-back, just as Dier is not, shall we say, elite. So Inter will plan for Dimarco to exploit the former and their strike pairing the latter – Lautaro and Thuram look to have the legs and strength on both Bayern centre-backs.

Bayern will look at Inter's formation and think it made for them. The space, in behind the wing-backs and down the outside of the centre-backs – who like to attack – will leave plenty for Leroy Sane and Michael Olise to go at. If they play well tonight, Inter have a problem, while Harry Kane must surely be definitive in a big game at some point.

They too make one change: Thomas Muller their goalscorer last week, is in for Raphael Guerreiro.

And it's at wing-back, where Federico Dimarco replaces Carlos Augusto; he plays on the left, so the versatile Darmian moves over to his natural side.

When I was paying good money to watch Matteo Darmian and Henrikh Mkhitaryan be respectively wallpaper and anonymous for Manchester United, I did not think that, the best part of a decade later, they'd be playing in a team this good, at this level. Biggup to both.

Then we'll ponder how things might go.
