PENALTY FOR ARSENAL
Partey picks the ball up on the edge of the box and looks to bundle his way through defenders into the area.
The ball breaks free into the box and as Partey looks to burst through, Martinez sticks out a leg and brings him down. Really silly from the defender.
ANOTHER OPENING FOR DANJUMA
Tsygankov does well down Girona's right before picking out Danjuma with a low ball across the area.
The forward takes a touch back inside before seeing his effort deflected over. He perhaps should have taken that one first time.
Arsenal's defence looks a bit rattled here.

'WHY IS NETO OUT OF HIS GOAL?'
Discussing Danjuma's goal, TNT Sports commentator Lucy Ward said: "That certainly woke the stadium up! Arsenal players are around the referee saying that’s offside.
"Why is Neto out of his goal? He dived for it but he was out of the penalty area."

GIRONA'S TAILS ARE UP
Girona are quickly looking for a second as they combine well down their left but Danjuma's final ball inside looking for Ruiz is scrambled away.
Sterling wins a corner for Arsenal moments later, down their left, but it's easy pickings for Lopez.

GOAL! GIRONA 1-0 ARSEANL (DANJUMA)
For the first time in Europe this season, Arsenal have conceded from open play! Juanpe plays an incisive through-ball for Danjuma to run onto down their left attacking channel.
Neto comes racing out before stopping in his tracks on the edge of the box and he is caught in no-mans-land as the Girona man curls it around him to take the lead.
There are appeals for offside but the goal stands!

VILLA 2-0 UP
Elsewhere, Aston Villa are 2-0 up thanks to two goals from Morgan Rogers inside the opening five minutes.
Emery's men are up to sixth in the group-phase table as it stands, with all 18 games approaching the half-hour mark.

GIRONA SITTING DEEP
Nwaneri's corner causes problems as it bounces inside the six-yard box but the home side do manage to scramble it away.
Girona are sitting really deep here as Arsenal probe and look for the opening but after another lengthy spell of possession, a foul from Trossard eases the pressure on the Spanish team.
20'
NWANERI INVOLVED
Nwaneri's inswinging corner is flapped away by Lopez before Tsygankov completes the clearance. The whistle goes anyway for an infringement by Gabriel.
Nwaneri is fed down the right and looks to go on the outside this time following a couple of stepovers and he manages to win the corner from Frances.

ARSENAL DOMINANT
Arsenal enjoy a lengthy spell of controlled possession inside the Girona half before Merino finally goes for the through-ball into the box for Nwaneri, but it is cut out and the home side win the goal-kick.
They instantly lose out though and Arsenal come back once again and quickly win a corner down their right.
13'
ARSENAL DENIED BY THE FLAG
Arsenal work the ball really nicely around the Girona area before Sterling plays Calafiori into the left of the box with a deft through-ball.
The left-back finishes superbly into the bottom right corner from a tight angle but the flag is up. It was close but the correct call.
11'
SIGHTERS FOR GIRONA
Martin cuts in from the right and takes aim from the edge of the area but his effort glances off the head of Gabriel and goes out for a corner, which comes to nothing.
Danjuma then goes on a jinking run inside from the left and looks to work room for the shot but an Arsenal block takes the sting off of his eventual effort and Neto can gather.
8'
INCHES WIDE FROM TROSSARD
Sterling does well as he jinks into the area on the outside of Martinez but his squared ball across the six-yard box is cut out.
So close for Arsenal! Nwaneri cuts in and delivers a dangerous inswinging cross from the left but Trossard isn't expecting the ball to reach him and it just hits the side of his body before going inches wide from a few yards out.
5'
NEARLY A NIGHTMARE FOR NETO
Jorginho goes back to Neto and it's nearly a nightmare debut for the veteran as he slips following his first touch but he just nicks it away as a Girona forward charges him down.
Sterling has an opening inside the box as he shifts it onto his right foot but his effort whistles just past the top right corner.
2'
APPEALS FOR A PENALTY
As expected, Sterling is operating on the left for Arsenal, with Nwaneri on the right and Trossard through the middle. Sterling wins an early free-kick for the visitors down that left.
It's the captain to Odegaard to swing it in but Ruiz can scramble it away at the near post amid half-hearted appeals from Arsenal for a handball by the Girona forward.

HARGREAVES BACK ARSENAL TO WIN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WITH NEW STRIKER
Discussing Arsenal on TNT Sports, Owen Hargreaves said: "They need a striker, there is no shame in that. Mikel (Arteta) said in his interview that they have to share the goals, and they do. It’s Saka, Martinelli, Havertz. Outside of that you are looking at Gabriel and Calafiori getting goals as defenders.
"Imagine if they had a number nine. The sky is the limit for this group. Not many of these guys have won a trophy yet, they are all at the same phase of their career. If they could add somebody with experience of winning trophies, it would make a huge difference."

ARTETA ON JANUARY TRANSFERS
When asked whether Arsenal are looking at bringing in players this window for positions other than a striker, manager Mikel Arteta said on Tuesday: "There are situations open.
"I always say the same - if we can improve the squad with players who can impact us now and in the future, we will try to do that if it is the best thing for the club. I stand by that."

'ARSENAL REALLY IMPRESSIVE', SAYS HARGREAVES
Speaking on TNT Sports, former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves said: "(Arsenal) have been really impressive.
"The only loss they have had was against Inter, who are one of the favourites to win it. Obviously, Liverpool are (the favourites) right now.
"But I think if this Arsenal team can continue to defend like they have in this competition, they have got one of the best defences and only conceded two, I think they could win it. I really do.
"People will probably think I’m crazy for saying that, because they’re a young team still.
"But I think if they can maybe get someone in in this window to help out up front, with the defence that they have, I think they could be a problem for anyone in the knockout stages."
