Strong claims by Muller for a penalty, but he stayed on his feet when he may well have won a penalty if he went down. Hart definitely caught him late.

Glorious chance for Muller. Managed to go beyond Hart from the Gotze pass, but he clips the finish into the side netting after losing his balance. How did he miss that?

Bayern Munich and Manchester City have been drawn in the same Champions League group for the third time in the last four seasons. Their head-to-head record is perfectly balanced with two wins each. Bayern Munich have won only one of their last five Champions League games against English clubs at the Allianz Arena (D2 L2). It was against Manchester Utd in last season’s quarter finals.

Manuel Pellegrini: "I think that we will approach it as we do most of our matches, trying always to impose our footballing qualities, and to overcome Bayern Munich with our footballing qualities, but to also consider details regarding our opponents - not as a priority but as something important. For example when we give the ball to Bayern Munich we know it is very difficult to beat them. When we play like we are used to, and have ball possession, then it will be difficult for Bayern to win the ball back. So there are various aspects which start, for me, with the personality of the team to be able to impose their football against any opponent and on any pitch."
