Good evening and welcome to Eurosport’s LIVE coverage of the opening game of the Bundesliga’s 29th round, and we’ve got two teams chasing European football about to face off. Leverkusen’s three games since the coronavirus-enforced break have all featured at least four goals, while Freiburg’s last was a six-goal thriller. Let's hope for more of the same. Team news is coming up shortly.

Leverkusen win another corner or the right and decide to let Amiri take this time. It works, in so far as the win the next header, but again cannot fashion a shot.
23'
Two nice dummies in the box from Leverkusen players - only there was nobody there to benefit from the second.
21'
Aranguiz tries his luck from range and sees the ball fizz wide. He can hit them.
16'
Not clicking just yet.
15'
Heintz concedes a corner which Freiburg defend well.
14'
Good hands from Hradecky to claim a pacy cross - intentionally - at the second attempt.
12'
Bailey's corner is cleared by the first man.
12'
Leverkusen enjoy a prolonged spell of possession and eventually work the ball to Havertz, inside the penalty area, who wins a corner.
8'
They didn't look too comfortable doing so, but Leverkusen clear.
7'
Grifo dispossesses Amiri and then wins a corner when his shot is deflected over.
4'
A swift Leverkusen move looks to fashioned a chance for Bailey, who cuts in from the left but cannot find an opening so recycles the ball. Leverkusen end up unable to shoot and waste what appeared to be a good opening when Amiri strangely gets out of the way of a cross.
2'
A loose Leverkusen pass threatens to give the hosts an opening, but Baumgartlinger is across to snuff out the danger.

And we're off - Leverkusen, all in grey, get the game started.

Bayer looked particularly vulnerable from the flanks in defeat last time out, with three of the four goals they conceded headers from crosses, so it will be interesting to see if that is an area Freiburg target. We’ll know soon, with kick-off just five minutes away.

Freiburg have a decent home record against Leverkusen and have not lost a home game against them in the league since 2011. Michael Ballack scored the winner that day in his final season before retirement.
19:15
A win would take Leverkusen third, one point behind Borussia Dortmund and one above RB Leipzig. Nobody really knows if there will be European football or not next season, but a top-four finish is the aim for Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, victory for Freiburg would see them move into seventh, just one point and one place away from a Europa League berth. Seventh may well be enough for a Europa League place too, depending on what happens in the cup.
19:10
Here’s what Freiburg boss Christian Streich had to say about Havertz. "An exceptional player, it is a pleasure to watch him. He swims between the lines - and plays with a total self-image. I would be interested to know what kind of pulse he has - certainly half as high as mine." High praise.
19:07
And here are those four goals since the break.
19:05
This is an opportunity to scout Kai Havertz, one of the hottest properties in European football right now. The 20-year-old has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season, including four in three games since the Bundesliga returned. He's keeping quiet when it comes to the transfer speculation, however.
19:00
The matches are coming thick and fast for the visitors - four games in 12 days, which explains the need to rotate players who are in all likelihood still getting to grips with competitive football again - but boss Peter Bosz says that’s a good thing following a poor result.
"After defeats, it’s always good for players if the next game comes quickly," Bosz told a pre-game press conference. "Now it’s down to us to show that it was actually just one bad game.”
As for that defeat, the message is "forget it and move on.” Freiburg, he says, have a “great mentality”.
18:55
As for Bayer Leverkusen, only five starters from the 4-1 thumping at the hands of Wolfsburg start. Kai Havertz is one of them, while Leon Bailey returns to the team in place of Moussa Diaby, who drops to the bench. Another one to keep an eye on is 17-year-old Florian Wirtz.
BAYER LEVERKUSEN: Hradecky, Tah, Bender, Dragovic, Amiri, Baumgartlinger, Aranguiz, Sinkgraven, Wirtz, Havertz, Bailey.
