The Bayern Munich winger, 32, has not played since the 7-1 thrashing of Shakhtar Donestk in March.
His injury proved troublesome to shake and it took much effort – including the use of an anti-gravity running machine, typically used to train astronauts – to finally get back on the football field.
Ribery joined his team-mates for drills, although he is not expected to play again until mid-December.

"This was a super day for me and very emotional," the Frenchman told FCBTV. "It was the first long injury of my career and was a difficult situation for me.
"But that's football and that's life, it's important to always keep your head up and to work hard. It's a good feeling to be back in the team.
"The whole team was happy for me. It was fun."
