Stage 12: Subaru's Petter Solberg narrowly edged out current British Rally leader Markko Martin for the second stage in succession to narrow the gap to just 1.8 seconds going into tonight's Cardiff special stage. Carlos Sainz is 25 seconds adrift in third with Richard Burns fourth.

Gronholm weary of McRae and Burns on Rally GB

STAGE 8 - 54km RESOLFEN: Overnight leader Marcus Gronholm has certainly no ideas of taking it easy this morning after beating a charging Richard Burns (who rises to sixth) to the best time on the 54km Resolfen stage. Ford's Markko Martin reclaimed second overall after taking ten seconds out of Subaru's Petter Solberg, while Hyundai's Arminn Schwarz dropped over ten minutes following an off.
REPORT & RESULTS: Gronholm relentless, Martin goes second
STAGE 9 - CRYCHAN 13KM: Subaru's Petter Solberg ended Marcus Gronholm's run of forest stage victories by setting the fastest time on the 12km Crychan test. Richard Burns continued his charge in second with Gronholm third quickest. A number of drivers completed the stage with broken windscreens due to overhanging branches and will have to complete SS10 before reaching service.
RESULTS: Stage 9 results & comments
STAGE 10 - HALFWAY 18.5km: Marcus Gronholm crashed out of the lead of the rally after losing control of his Peugeot 206 WRC on a tarmac section of the stage. Richard Burns went fastest on the stage ahead of a brilliant time from Citroen's Sebastien Loeb after the Frenchman changed his suspension settings. Petter Solberg was third, with Colin McRae fourth and new leader Markko Martin fifth.
REPORT: Stage 10 - Gronholm - "It was my mistake"
STAGE 11 - CRYCHAN 13km: Petter Solberg has set the fastest time on the 12km Crychan re-run to edge closer to current British Rally leader Markko Martin. Solberg went six tenths of a second quicker than the Estonian to leave him just 2.4 seconds adrift of the lead. Richard Burns was third. Harri Rovenpera dropped further time due to a rear wheel bearing problem.

Citroen's Sebastien Loeb was once again the star of the stage as he came home third ahead of Colin McRae and Richard Burns.
