STAGE 14 - RESOLFEN II 54.69km: Subaru's Petter Solberg has taken a giant step closer to claiming his first World Rally victory after moving into a comfortable lead on the British Rally. Solberg now holds a 20-second lead after setting an extraordinary pace on Sunday's opening 54km Resolfen stage. Richard Burns was two seconds adrift in second with Harri Rovanpera third. Markko Martin was 22 seconds adrift in fourth.

STAGE 15 - RHEOLA II 28km: Ford's Markko Martin is now just 12.8 seconds behind rally leader Petter Solberg after setting the fastest time on the Rheola re-run. After the stage Solberg complained that something had broken on the Subaru: "I have broken something on my rear suspension which is causing me to run wide on corners". Tommi Makinen went a tenth quicker than Colin McRae to maintain fifth overall.

STAGE 16 - MARGAM I 27.93km: Richard Burns has retired from the Rally after going off the road , blowing his chaces of finishing second in the World championship. Petter Solberg edged closer to his maiden world rally win after extending his overall lead to 21.3 seconds. Sebastien Loeb's fantastic run has sadly come to an end after retiring with front suspension failure. Tommi Makinen looks safe in fourth.

STAGE 17 - MARGAM II 27.93km: Petter Solberg, who celebrates his 28th brithday tomorrow, has secured the runners-up position in the World Rally championship after claiming his maiden world rally victory in Great Britain on Sunday. Ford's Markko Martin finishes second, his first taste of the posium, with Carlos Sainz third in possibly his last rally. Tommi Makinen was fourth, with Colin McRae fifth and Mark Higgins a brilliant sixth on his Ford debut.
