Wimbledon 2025 Day 10 recap – Novak Djokovic defeats Flavio Cobolli to set Jannik Sinner showdown; Iga Swiatek and Belinda Bencic also reach last four
We are down to the last four quarter-finals at Wimbledon 2025. First up on No.1 Court Iga Swiatek faces Liudmila Samsonova before Jannik Sinner battles Ben Shelton. Over on Centre Court, Mirra Andreeva takes on Belinda Bencic prior to 24-time major winner Novak Djokovic locking horns with Italy's Flavio Cobolli.

DJOKOVIC 5-5 COBOLLI
Cobolli almost unravels after a super, stun volley had put him 30-0 to the good.
A forehand rocket from Nole helps him storm back to earn set point, but the Italian refuses to fold and again produces some of his best tennis in adversity to resist and pull level on the board!

SET! - SINNER 7-6 6-4 SHELTON
Sinner bags another routine hold and then digs in on the return with Shelton facing the scoreboard pressure.
The Italian wins the rally of the match with a forehand winner down the line to press from 30-0 down.
Shelton buckles from there with a couple of stray backhands landing long to gift Jannik a two-set lead.

Wow -that is unexpected!
Djokovic crumbles trying to serve it out, leaking errors left, right and centre before breaking himself to love with a stray mid-court forehand.

It remains very, very tight in this quarter-final showdown.
Shelton produces some brave, bold-hitting to stave off break point and completes the rescue-act from deuce to level matters once more.

BREAK! – DJOKOVIC 5-3 COBOLLI
It’s been tougher than many would have expected, but Djokovic may now have found the chink in his opponent’s armour.
The Serb edges a hold to 30 from 30-30 and then turns the screw on the return.
Cobolli again comes up clutch on serve to fend off a break point, but when he double faults to cough up a second, Nole engages in an all-court rally that ends with the Italian firing just wide into the alley.
Djokovic will now serve for the set.

Sinner is usually so poker-faced but he’s showing signs of concern and perhaps that elbow is beginning to cause some discomfort.
The Italian is rather loose but always from a leading position. When he wobbles he relentlessly attacks the American’s backhand and continually gets the reward with the errors to edge a tough hold from deuce.

Cobolli resists once more, conjuring up a clutch first serve to swat away a break point and make deuce.
The Italian needs it again to fend off a second BP but then wriggles out of danger as he jumps all over Djoker’s re-drop to fizz away a crosscourt forehand.

Shelton swoops to the net to caress away a serve and volley routine to finish off a hold to 15 and remain on serve in the second.
Given how well the American has been serving, Sinner knows he can’t afford his elbow to begin to show some wear and tear.

Cobolli has the spectators on Centre Court gasping with a crushing crosscourt forehand to press at 15-30.
Djokovic responds with three clutch serves to step out of a tough predicament and stay in charge of the board.

Shelton darts through a welcome love hold and quickly achieves parity on the board.

Cobolli reads a Djoker forehand down the line and unleashes a stunning backhand pass to threaten at 15-30.
The Italian has the half chance with a forehand up the line but burrows it into the net and Djokovic edges through to the hold from there.
Cobolli then lets a 40-0 lead slip on serve but stubbornly hangs tough at deuce before a big forehand up the line forces the error to help him level up at two apiece.

Shelton comes up clutch from 30-30 with the first serve helping him avoid any mishap.

Shelton barely won a point on the Sinner serve in the opener, but he works his way to three right at the start of the second.
The world number one stares down two break points, thudding down his fastest serve of the match so far to reach deuce.
There’s a sense of inevitability from there and the Italian grits out the hold to seize the scoreboard advantage.

Flavio resists early pressure from the seven-time champion at 0-30 as he races through the next four points, producing a bewitching forehand pass down the line and a clutch wide serve to get on the board.
