Jannik Sinner's victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the final of Wimbledon saw him lift the iconic trophy for the first time.
The world No. 1 defeated his Spanish rival 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 at SW19, avenging his defeat in the final of this year's French Open in the process.
The Italian now looks set to dominate the sport for years to come after winning his fourth Grand Slam at the age of 23.
Sinner had already claimed the 2024 US Open title and two Australian Open crowns prior to his victory on Sunday.
His remarkable achievements have seen him be compared to tennis' fabled 'Big Four' of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray.
And the 23-year-old's victory over Alcaraz saw him surpass three of the quartet in one key statistic.

Sinner's slam stat

The Wimbledon final was Sinner's 100th Grand Slam match since his first appearance at one of the sport's four showpiece events back in 2019.
He reached his first quarter-final at the 2020 French Open, just a year after his Grand Slam debut.
His first semi-final came at Wimbledon in 2023, and a year later, he came out on top in his first Grand Slam final at the Australian Open.
His triumph at this year's Wimbledon left him with a record of 81 wins in 100 Grand Slam appearances.

Surpassing Djokovic, Federer and Murray

Sinner now boasts the second-most wins of any male player in their first 100 Grand Slam matches since 2000, according to OptaAce.
Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray is in fifth, having recorded 77 victories in his first 100 outings.
Sinner is also ahead of Djokovic and Federer, who established themselves with 79 and 80 wins respectively.
The only player with more wins in his first 100 matches was Nadal, who won an extraordinary 86 of his first 100 Grand Slam matches.

Sinner joins an elite list

Sinner also joined an elite list of legends with his victory over Alcaraz.
He is now just one of five players aged 23 or younger who have held three men’s singles titles at Grand Slams simultaneously during the Open Era.
The other four players to have reached that milestone are Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras, Federer and Nadal.
If Sinner can maintain the stunning level he has shown in his still nascent career, the Italian no doubt has more legends to outdo, and more records to break.
