ALCARAZ STATS
Since the US Open’s switch to hard court in 1978, Carlos Alcaraz is now the first player to win multiple Grand Slam titles on all three surfaces before turning 23.
Alcaraz (22 years 111 days) is now the youngest player in the Open Era to defeat multiple reigning Men’s Singles champions in Grand Slam finals, and the first to achieve the feat overall since Novak Djokovic in 2011.
Since 1973, Carlos Alcaraz has become just the second player to defeat the ATP #1 in multiple Grand Slam finals in a season after Rafael Nadal, who defeated Roger Federer at Roland Garros and Wimbledon in 2008.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! - SINNER 2-6 6-3 1-6 4-6 ALCARAZ
Carlos Alcaraz is the 2025 US Open champion!
The Spaniard serves out from deuce on his third match point to seal a four-set win and dethrone Jannik Sinner as the King of New York.
It sees the 22-year-old claim his second US Open crown and his sixth major overall, making him the second youngest man in the Open Era to win that number of Grand Slam titles (22 years and 125 days).
It also means Alcaraz will end the Italian’s run as the world number one and replace him at the top of the rankings.
It was a below-par showing from Sinner, who will drop to world number two next week after seeing his 27-match winning streak on hard courts at Grand Slam level come to an end.

22:11
BREAK! – SINNER 2-6 6-3 1-6 2-3 ALCARAZ
Is that going to be the key moment in this set?
Sinner loses a wonderful cat and mouse with a crosscourt volley wide but lands a clutch serve to lead 30-15.
A rash forehand long keeps Alcaraz interested and then a double fault opens the door.
Sinner is usually so clutch, but he folds easily here with another forehand long.
22:05
SINNER 2-6 6-3 1-6 2-2 ALCARAZ
Alcaraz again keeps Sinner at bay with some sharp serving that levels matters courtesy of a hold to 30.
21:59
SINNER 2-6 6-3 1-6 2-1 ALCARAZ
That’s more like the Jannik Sinner the rest of the ATP Tour know as the world number one races through a hold for the loss of one point.
21:56
SINNER 2-6 6-3 1-6 1-1 ALCARAZ
Ridiculous from Carlos, simply ridiculous.
A feathered slice brings Sinner charging forward again. The Italian reaches a lob with an overhead on the stretch but can only watch as Alcaraz booms a delicious winner down the line to seal the hold to 15 with real panache.
21:52
SINNER 2-6 6-3 1-6 1-0 ALCARAZ
Sinner produces a superb one-two forehand punch to stave off a break point and make deuce after more aggression had put Alcaraz on the front foot on the return.
The Italian booms down a huge first serve to briefly take charge at deuce but is flummoxed by a wonderful dropper from deep.
The top seed has been uncomfortable for so much of this final and double faults to cough up a second opportunity.
Cue one of the points of the match as Sinner drifts a slice volley to his left and stands firm to pop away a stretch volley winner after the blur of speed that is Alcaraz somehow dug out the first one.
Sinner knows how key this game is and rifles a backhand down the line before digging out a resilient hold when Alcaraz flashes a forehand just long.
21:39
SET! - SINNER 2-6 6-3 1-6 ALCARAZ
Alcaraz helps himself to a third-set breadstick instead, but more importantly is now one away from a second US Open title and his sixth major overall.
What can Jannik do to halt the Spaniard’s charge?

Indeed, this set looks all-but done and the defending champion has a lot of work to do from here…
21:29
BREAK! – SINNER 2-6 6-3 0-4 ALCARAZ
Sinner makes a mess of low forehand that burrows into the net and Alcaraz senses another chance.
The Spaniard turns the screw with an explosive crosscourt forehand winner to conjure up triple break points and converts on the second of them when Sinner drills an inside-out forehand wide.
