He claws level with a brilliant backhand to the corner, followed by an increasingly impressive smash to the baseline corner, but nets a regulation forehand to let Youzhny back into the lead at 30-15. He again moves level with a five backhand volley, before earning a game point with a massive serve. Youzhny hits back to force deuce, but fires a couple of sloppy forehands into the green to concede the game

Youzhny looks to be on his way to a comfortable hold at 40-15, but Wawrinka refuses to go down without at fight and claws his way back to deuce. Youzhny earns advantage with another perfect drop-shot, and Wawrinka crumbles on game point, hitting out to offer Youzhny a two-game lead.

BREAK YOUZHNY! My oh my, Youzhny earns a break point in Wawrinka's opening service game with some aggressive groundstrokes and a pinpoint smash. A lengthy, if unspectacular, rally ensues on break point, which ends with Wawrinka rushing to the net and Youzhny firing a blistering backhand low over the net straight into him for the break!

He takes a moment to check on that left knee, before netting a backhand and slamming his racquet into the court in frustration. Youzhny wraps up the game with a couple of huge, unreturnable serves, and takes this quarter-final to a fifth and deciding set!

Wawrinka shows some signs of frustration, swiping at a backhand and sending it yards wide of the tramlines. He earns himself a foothold in the game when Youzhny fires a forehand wide for 30-15, and again when the Russian double-faults for 40-30. It proves to be a false dawn for Wawrinka, however, as Youzhny turns on the style and hammers the ball from corner to corner, before finishing the point - and the game - with an immaculate backhand drop-volley.
