Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have ended their coaching relationship after six months together.
Murray made the shock move to join Djokovic’s coaching team in November 2024.
They worked together at the Australian Open, where Djokovic made the semi-finals, but the partnership will not continue at the French Open or Wimbledon.
"Thank you, coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over [the] last six months on and off the court - really enjoyed deepening our friendship together," said Djokovic on social media.
Murray was working for the first time as a coach following his retirement from tennis last summer.
He travelled to four tournaments with Djokovic - Australian Open, Indian Wells, Miami and Madrid - none of which resulted in silverware.
Djokovic did reach the final in Miami, but his form has been on the slide since, with defeats in his opening matches in Monte Carlo and Madrid.
"Thanks to Novak for the unbelievable opportunity to work together, and thanks to his team for all their hard work over the past six months," said Murray.
"I wish Novak all the best for the rest of the season."
There appeared positive signs at the first tournament together for Murray and Djokovic, with a run to the Australian Open semi-finals.
Djokovic was full of praise for Murray’s "really dedicated" coaching style in Melbourne and the pair seemed set to continue their relationship until at least Wimbledon.
However, Djokovic has struggled for form over the last few months and lost his opening matches in Monte Carlo and Madrid.
Following his Madrid exit he pulled out of the Italian Open, but he is set to play the Geneva Open in the week before the French Open, where he will be aiming for a record 25th Grand Slam title.
"Obviously, it’s challenging for me nowadays to produce the results I had when I was at my best. It doesn’t mean that I will never be able to do that again," Djokovic recently told Business Traveller.
"But that greatness changes its shape, and that’s because you’re a different person on an annual basis, on a monthly basis, on a weekly basis.
"Tennis is a sport where it’s necessary to nurture that mentality of, 'It’s never enough'. Because once it’s enough, then it’s really enough and you have to put the racquet aside.
"I still don’t feel it’s enough for me."
