Jack Draper's impressive 2025 campaign has been curtailed by an arm injury, the British No. 1 said on Monday, dashing his hopes of appearing in a first ATP Finals event. Draper withdrew from the US Open after beating Federico Agustin Gomez in the first round at Flushing Meadows, and said in a statement on social media the injury must be rested - bringing a premature end to his season.

British No. 1 Jack Draper will miss the rest of the 2025 season with an arm injury.
Despite working his way to the second round of the US Open with victory over Federico Agustin Gomez, the world No. 7 withdrew from the New York Grand Slam after discomfort in his left arm became "too much".
Draper, who wore an arm-length sleeve in that opening-round win, had been out for seven weeks in the build-up to the tournament at Flushing Meadows with bone bruising. He said on Monday the injury requires rest, and that he will not be competing for the remainder of the campaign.
"Unfortunately, the injury to my arm is something I have to rest and means I'll be sitting out the rest of 2025," Draper wrote on X.
"It is very difficult for me to accept as I was building some incredible momentum this year and playing some great stuff."
Draper added that he hoped it would be only a minor blip, with his aim being to bounce back for the start of the 2026 season.
He continued: "I've been through this before and I always come back stronger as I'm so motivated to fulfil my potential as a player.
"Huge thanks to everyone who backs me to do well and supports me on my journey. Can't wait to get back out there and give it my all."
The injury curtailed what had been a hugely positive year for Draper, whose deep runs in tournaments saw him rise to a career-best world No. 4.
The 23-year-old's absence could feasibly see him exit the top 10, and puts paid to his hopes of appearing in a first ATP Finals - which will take place in Turin, Italy from November 9-16.
Draper had put himself in prime position to qualify, needing to rank inside the world's top eight for a spot in the season-ending Turin showpiece - his ranking significantly boosted by a maiden ATP 1000 triumph in Indian Wells in March, while he also reached the Madrid Open final two months later.
Injuries have hampered Draper during his ascendancy on tour. He missed Wimbledon in 2023 due to a shoulder problem, while tendinitis in his hip continued to trouble him from last year into this season's Australian Open, where he retired while two sets down against new world No. 1 and US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Despite those issues, Draper has managed to establish himself among the best men's players on tour.
He has yet to match his impressive run to the US Open semi-finals last year, and suffered a disappointing Wimbledon exit to Marin Cilic, but has claimed some eye-catching victories through the 2025 campaign - notably in Indian Wells where he ousted top-10 rivals Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Holger Rune.
Draper now has around four months to prepare for the new season, with the 2026 Australian Open to commence on January 18.
