MATCH OF THE DAY
Roger Federer v Jurgen Melzer (Rod Laver Arena, second match late session)Old guys rule as two 35-year-olds take the limelight in Melbourne's late-night match. Melzer is a tricky opponent for Federer - he hasn't appeared in a Grand Slam main draw since 2015, but the Austrian is a former world number 8 and won't be overawed by the occasion. Expect Federer to progress, but this could be an entertaining encounter.

POTENTIAL UPSET OF THE DAY
Simona Halep (4) v Shelby Rogers (Rod Laver Arena, midnight)The first match of the tournament on Melbourne's centre court could provide its first major upset - Simona Halep had an indifferent end to 2016, and suffered a second-round defeat to Katerina Siniakova in Shenzhen, her only tournament of the year so far. World number 57 Shelby Rogers has made a decent start to the season and could be poised to strike.
BRITWATCH
It's a proud day for Britain as Andy Murray plays his first Grand Slam match as the world number one. Aljaz Bedene and Dan Evans are also in action (see above). Kyle Edmund, Naomi Broady, Heather Watson and Jo Konta all play on Tuesday.
