Iga Swiatek loses to Madison Keys: 2025 Australian Open semi-final result as Keys hits back to reach first AO final

The No.19 seed nails a beauty of a forehand winner to open and is then gifted two break points when Iga double faults and skews a forehand down the line wide.

The American snatches a backhand return wide on the first but eventually forces the volley error on her umpteenth pass attempt to get off to a flyer.

Swiatek will serve first.

The World No.1 eased past 'best friend' Paula Badosa 6-4 6-2 to keep her bid for a 'Threepeat' alive in the first of today's women's semi finals.

Swiatek leads the match-up 4-1 but this will be their first clash at a Grand Slam.

The Pole has won the last two meetings both on clay. Indeed, three of their five encounters have been on the dirt.

It’s currently 1-1 on hard courts with Swiatek winning 6-1 6-0 in the quarter finals in what proved to be her title run at Indian Wells in 2022. 

Keys then won 6-3 6-4 in the last 16 in Cincinnati a few months later.
