SINNER SPEAKS TO EUROSPORT
"Defending the title is always different. You have this extra pressure, but I always enjoy it. Every match has been very tough.
"It's a tough day for Sascha. He had already some tough Grand Slam finals, I got lucky in the tie-break. I can feel him. He was a bit down, it's very difficult.
"From my side, very happy. We know how much we worked for this one.
"I felt like I was starting the match very well. Feeling the ball, hitting it well, and aggressive. In the third set I tried to search for the break and keep the serve. I served very well today.
"I do struggle sometimes, you have days where you feel worse but everyday can be different. I can raise my level from every day and that's what I was searching for.
"Coming here without playing any tournaments before, I just tried to stay focused. In my mind, I know I'm prepared for tough battles."

MCENROE OFFERS VERDICT
John McEnroe: "He was as good as he had to be. Definitely by far the best player on hard courts, not sure you throw him that on clay and grass. He's a little bit of a work in progress. He's still young.
"But I was a little bit surprised with the level Zverev came up with in the second and third set. He had no energy. It looked like he was flat as a pancake. He looked weary, but he's played one set in five days.
"I think it was mental, but it looked physical."
ROBSON ON ZVEREV'S RACQUET WOES
In a bizarre incident during the first set, Zverev teed off at the umpire over the tension in his strings - but Laura Robson felt it was a culmination of the German's frustrations at a difficult start.
"I think he was looking for anything to cling onto," Robson said. "Looking to be able to change something that was going to turn the match around.
"I don't think it was anything to do with the tension to be honest. He wanted it ASAP, but even at 4-3, he wasn't feeling the timing that Jannik was on the baseline.
You can put it down to the equipment and the strings and everything else, but a lot of the time he just felt like he was being out-played.
"That makes you feel uncomfortable and you look for reasons as to why that is, but for me a lot of it was to do with how consistent Jannik was."

WILANDER, HENMAN QUESTION ZVEREV EMOTIONALLY
Mats Wilander: "To me, Sascha Zverev is a little flat emotionally in this match. I've seen matches when he's said 'Come On' a little bit more. I don't think I saw one in the three sets.
The first set is important, but it's five sets and he would have known the longer it goes on the more chance for him
But Sinner served brilliantly all day and that was a bit of a surprise for me."
Tim Henman: "The question mark was how much Zverev was going to be prepared to take the bull by the horns. Live by the sword, die by the sword, and take a few more risks.
"They got into so many baseline exchanges, they're serving very well but their returns are good. In those baseline exchanges, the pendulum swings towards Sinner.
"He's the one able to dominate, you never saw any type of reaction. Zverev is trying, but to show his opponent more reaction, show them he's in for the long-haul. Maybe turn things around, so it's a frustrating loss for him."
ROBSON: 'PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE'
Laura Robson spoke about Sinner's muted celebrations after sealing back-to-back Australian Open titles.
"It would be very unlike Jannik Sinner to fall to the floor and throw in some theatrics," Robson said.
"This always felt like it was his match, from the first game he had that little bit of firepower, that little bit of consistency.
"As soon as he got that first set in the bag he thought it's going to go the way that a lot of us expected it to. Phenomenal performance from Jannik Sinner."

'A flawless performance' - Experts react to Sinner winning Australian Open again
Video credit: TNT Sports
WILANDER HAILS SINNER'S 'FLAWLESS' PERFORMANCE
Mats Wilander: "Absolutely incredibly consistent, aggressive, calm, the intensity is up still. For me, a flawless performance by Jannik Sinner."
Tim Henman: "Absolutely, in so many different areas. I've always felt Sinner's serve has been a work in progess, it's a very good serve but not to face a break point was phenomenal, it gave him such a solid platform to be aggressive from the back of the court.
"And such a worthy champion. He's gone about his business. When he's been pushed at different times, he's always come up with the solutions. Straight sets in the semis and finals is so impressive."
MORE FROM SINNER
"The most important is you guys [the fans]. You cheered for me, not from the first-round match but the week before. It's an amazing atmosphere to come here, I felt your love. See you next year."
'AMAZING TO ACHIEVE THESE THINGS' - SINNER
Sinner steps up to the mic with trophy in hand.
"First of all I'd like to start with Sascha. A tough day for you. You have an incredible team behind you, you're an amazing player. Keep believing in yourself. Whoever is involved in the sport knows how strong you are. I wish you all the best.
"Talking about my team, we worked a lot to be in this position. It's an amazing feeling to share this moment with all of you. It's amazing to achieve these things but also to share this with you guys.
[Turning to Darren Cahill] "It's your last Australian Open as a coach. I'm very happy to share this trophy with you. I think you're an amazing combination of coaches and I'm very happy to have you all here."

'I'M NOT GOOD ENOUGH' - ZVEREV
"It sucks standing next to this thing and not being able to touch it. Congratulations to Jannik, you're the best player in the world by far.
"I was hoping I could be more competitive today, but you're just too good. You really deserve it.
"Congratulations to your team as well. You've done all the right things. Nobody deserves this trophy more.
"We're trying to do all the right work, I'm just not good enough. It's as simple as that.
"But I really appreciate what everybody has done over the last few years, back from my ankle injury to world No.2, to playing Grand Slam finals again. I wouldn't be here without them."
"The crowd has been nothing but amazing to me over the past two weeks. You guys pushed me through to the final. I didn't think I'd have a chance.
"I don't know if I'll ever be able to lift the trophy, but I'll keep trying. See you all next year."

RECORD-BREAKING SINNER!
At just 23-years-old, Jannik Sinner's three major titles makes him the most decorated Italian player to grace the Grand Slams.
The Italian has not tasted defeat in all competitions since October, and heading into the 2025 campaign, he is looking to be a serious, serious force.
Who will stop him? And can he extend his major titles away from the hard surface?
GAME, SET & MATCH! SINNER 6-3 7-6(4) 6-3 ZVEREV
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has won back-to-back Australian Open titles, an absolutely imperious display on Rod Laver Arena as he downs Alexander Zverev in straight sets.
The Italian scoops his third Grand Slam crown, and cements his place at the summit of the men's tennis rankings.
It was performance befitting of the 'No. 1' tag. The pair embrace, but Zverev will ultimately be disappointed. He found absolutely no way past his counterpart, falling to his third defeat in as many Grand Slam finals.
Reaction to come!
SINNER 6-3 7-6(4) 5-3 ZVEREV
It's a hold to 15 for Zverev, but he will not remotely care.
Sinner is about to serve for the championship. And he German must now produce something he hasn't managed in the last two-and-a-half hours.

Watch as Zverev smashes his racquets into each other during final

SINNER 6-3 7-6(4) 5-2 ZVEREV
A rare occasion as Zverev forges 0-15 ahead, but he's quickly pegged back.
The German is being forced to really try and impose a big, deep-hitting game against Sinner now. But it is drawing numerous errors, and it's two game points for the Italian.
But he does fight back to force a deuce! Could he immediately thwart Sinner's advantage with a first break of the match?
He pegs back Sinner's advantage, but the Italian roars back into the box-seat with an excellent ace.
The mentality on show from Sinner has been first-class, and he wraps up what is an important hold. One game away from defending his Melbourne title, in emphatic style too.
BREAK! SINNER 6-3 7-6(4) 4-2 ZVEREV
Sinner well-placed to send Zverev's serve whistling right back at him, forcing the German to take the sting out of it and sending a lofted effort long.
The No. 1's chance to clinch a significant break then presents itself, as he goes 0-30 ahead with Zverev hitting long again.
Sascha gets one back but Sinner's deep-hitting draws another unforced error, and it's two break points. This would be a huge moment for the defending champ.
The German initially holds his nerve, spraying some excellent ground-strokes and giving Sinner no chance with an unattainable backhand drive.
But the world No. 1 gets the break! He pushes Zverev all the way at the back of the court, and the trailing No. 2 blasts long. That's 4-2 for Sinner now, and he may well be on the home straight.
SINNER 6-3 7-6(4) 3-2 ZVEREV
Such phenomenal striking from the world No. 1, shaping the point in whichever way he likes and seizing 30-0 ahead.
A break just doesn't look on the cards for Sascha. Henman asks if there's any way he can be more aggressive. You feel the German has to switch is up somewhere, time is running out to get that elusive break of serve.
It's another comfortable hold to love for Sinner.
SINNER 6-3 7-6(4) 2-2 ZVEREV
Tim Henman points out on comms that Sinner's consistency all over the court is what makes him such a dominant force. That has certainly been the case today, no weaknesses for Zverev to play into, while the Italian returns pretty much everything that comes his way.
The German, though, holds to 15. Again, he hasn't done an awful lot wrong, he's just up against a special force here.
