BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-1 4-1 NISHIKORI. It's another break! Djokovic corks a sublime return winner down the line to force deuce. Kei goes big with a similar drive off the backhand but angles it wide. The Serb seizes his chance and claims the double break via another unforced error from the Japanese.
DJOKOVIC 6-1 3-1 NISHIKORI. This is almost too easy. Djokovic backs up the break with a love hold. It's more a question of whether Kei finishes the match rather than who will win.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-1 2-1 NISHIKORI. It's all so bleak for Kei. He's not so much Special K but Shattered K. He leaks a quartet of unforced errors off the forehand to cough up a very cheap break to love.
It seems to be the perfect match for Nole after his issues in the last round versus Medvedev.
DJOKOVIC 6-1 1-1 NISHIKORI. Nole responds with a quick-fire love hold. The Serb keen to remain completely focused despite the travails of his opponent at the other end of the court.
DJOKOVIC 6-1 0-1 NISHIKORI. The time-out has obviously done Kei some sort of good. He opens with a hold to 15. He looked to be moving better there, but how long will it last when he's clearly so fatigued?
Kei is back on his feet and ready to serve at the start of Set 2.

SET! - DJOKOVIC 6-1 NISHIKORI. The world number one serves out the opener in just 31 minutes with a simple hold to love. It's a tasty breadstick to kick off for the Serb. Meanwhile, Kei has called for the trainer.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 5-1 NISHIKORI. Too good. Djokovic tears apart Nishikori on his serve once again. The Serb ups the ante from deuce, teasing a timid backhand error out of his opponent for another break opportunity. He wastes little time converting it as he sweeps a backhand pass down Nishikori's right flank. He'll now serve for the set.

DJOKOVIC 4-1 NISHIKORI. Kei finally makes some inroads on the Nole serve and gets to deuce when the world number one balloons an overhead smash wide. However, the Serb dusts himself down and comfortably sees it out from there.
Better from the Japanese No.8 seed, but Djokovic remains firmly in control.
DJOKOVIC 3-1 NISHIKORI. More pressure on the Nishikori serve. Djokovic punishes a weak second serve with a crunching backhand return winner to make deuce, but this time he can't carve out a break. Nishikori executes a delightful angled volley at the net on his way to a first hold of the match. He's on the board!
DJOKOVIC 3-0 NISHIKORI. The world number one is in cruise control. He coughs up a double fault but it proves to be a minor blip as he easily consolidates with a game to 15.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 2-0 NISHIKORI. It's already looking ominous for the Japanese star. He looks a tad fatigued from the wear and tear of his earlier matches. Djokovic ensures he doesn't build any momentum on serve by turning the screw. The Serb lands a sublime backhand down the line to earn the break opportunity and Nishikori can't dig himself out of the hole as he slaps a loose backhand into the net.
DJOKOVIC 1-0 NISHIKORI. No sign of Nole struggling from the physical troubles in his last outing. He romps through a love hold and lays down an early statement of intent.
