Taylor Fritz landed his first ATP Tour title of 2025 with victory over Alexander Zverev in Stuttgart. The world No. 4 triumphed against home favourite Zverev, who has now lost each of his previous five meetings with the American. The 27-year-old stormed to victory at the ATP 250 event in Germany after winning the title without dropping a set. Meanwhile, Zverev responded in amusing fashion.

Taylor Fritz made the best possible start to the grass-court swing with a straight-sets victory over Alexander Zverev in the Stuttgart Open final.
The American claimed a 6-3 7-6(0) win over the world No. 3 to continue his hugely impressive record against Zverev.
The victory in Stuttgart comes as a welcome boost for Fritz following a shock showing at Roland-Garros, where he was defeated by German Daniel Altmaier in the first round.
Fritz paid tribute to Zverev after the match and was relieved to consign a sobering clay-court swing to the past, following underwhelming displays in Madrid, Rome and Geneva in the build-up to the French Open.
He said: "First off, congrats to Sascha and his team, you know what he did this week was really tough coming from deep in the French Open, coming up for the fans, playing for the German fans and making this switch to the grass, so congrats - it’s a good effort to be out here.
"I'm really happy, especially as it was not too great of a clay season. And then, from that place to come here and start the grass season off perfectly, I am super happy to win the title and do it here.
"I don't have much time to celebrate. I have doubles tomorrow in London, at Queen's."
It was a victory which continues a remarkable run of form against Zverev, who has succumbed to defeats in each of his last five clashes with the American.
It was a run which started with a fourth-round win at Wimbledon last year, before a quarter-final win at last year's US Open.
Further victories followed at the Laver Cup and the ATP Finals ahead of this latest success in Stuttgart.
This was Fritz's fourth grass-court title and ninth overall, taking his record against Zverev to 8-5 in his favour.
According to atptour.com, only Novak Djokovic is the only active player to have won more grass-court titles with eight.
Meanwhile, Zverev is still waiting for his first title on grass with this latest near-miss on the surface following defeats in the Halle final in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

‘I’m f***** tired of you’ – Zverev cheekily fires back
Meanwhile, Zverev took his defeat to Fritz in good grace by jokingly claiming "I’m f***** tired of you" in his post-match comments.
Zverev made the quip in the post-match trophy presentation, which prompted a wry smile from Fritz.
He said: "Last but not least, Taylor, I’m f***** tired of you," began Zverev.
"I don’t want to see you again over the next two, three years. Please stay away from me."
