Tatjana Maria said it was a "dream come true" to dispatch Madison Keys in straight sets and reach the final at Queen’s, where she will face Amanda Anisimova.
The 37-year-old qualifier earned a 6-3 7-6(4) win over Keys, the Australian Open champion, who has been one of the in-form players on the WTA Tour this season.
Maria, who arrived at Queen’s on a nine-match losing streak, told the BBC: "I cannot believe it, it's a dream come true.
"It's amazing to play in front of you all, such a special place.
"I could not wish for a better tournament to be in the final and I'm so proud."
The world No. 86 held her opening service games with ease before breaking to go 3-1 up. From that moment, she dropped a mere four points in the rest of the first set.
The second set went to a tie-break, with Keys’ mis-hit smash sealing the victory for Maria.

The German, who took two maternity breaks from the WTA Tour before making the Wimbledon semi-finals back in 2022, will take on Amanda Anisimova in the Queen’s final, after the 23-year-old beat Zheng Qinwen 6-2 4-6 6-4.
"You always have to keep going", Maria continued. "You never can stop, [it] doesn't matter how it goes.
"I've had my ups and downs, but I always keep going.
"I love to play tennis, I love the sport and we live for these special moments - that's why it's amazing."
Maria added that the presence of her two daughters courtside made her victory even more special.
"I love to be here with my family, my team. It makes it so special that we live this dream together."

The 22-year-old has been managing the issue since competing in Strasbourg last month ahead of the French Open.
"It's been lingering for the last few weeks, and I have had back issues before," she said.
"It's just a vulnerability of mine. I know I need to take good care of it.
"I need to let the back rest. [It] needs proper and careful management."
