Wu Yize and Xiao Guodong hit 147s on the same day, but how much more did GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan earn for record double?

The 2025/26 snooker season is set to go down in history as a landmark one for players producing 147 breaks. The Championship League event in Leicester has already witnessed four in January, with Wu Yize and Xiao Guodong joining Chris Wakelin and Matthew Selt as the sport's latest maximum men. Like Wakelin and Selt, Wu celebrated his maiden 147 at the city's Mattioli Arena.

Another day, another pair of 147s in professional snooker.
But unlike the whopping £180,333 picked up by Ronnie O'Sullivan in August for producing the first double maximums in the same session of a match at the Saudi Arabia Masters, the top prize on offer at the Championship League in Leicester is slightly more modest.
Recent Masters semi-finalist Wu Yize made his maiden maximum in the third frame of a 3-1 win over Oliver Lines in Group 6 of the invitational event on Wednesday.
And Lines was again in the opposite chair when Xiao Guodong made the third of his career, in the first frame of a 3-2 win over Xiao.
O'Sullivan earned a £147,000 bonus and two thirds of the £50,000 high-break prize with Thepchaiya Un-Nooh for his efforts in Jeddah, but Wu and Xiao are set to pick up just £250 each as a share of the £500 high-break prize at the low-key Championship League.
It brings the running total for the season to a whopping 20 and counting with four already produced at the city's Mattioli Arena.

Chris Wakelin and Matthew Selt also celebrated the first competitive 147s of their career at the tournament with the maximum gold rush showing no signs of drying up.
Better table conditions, more favourable pockets and a rising standard of play on the main circuit have all contributed to the record slew of perfect clearances.
A record 20 maximums have been made so far this season, five more than the previous high of 15, set last season.
That is 12 more than the entire total from the 1980s and only six short of the 26 recorded in the 1990s. In total, 237 have been made since six-time world champion Steve Davis produced the historic first in 1982.
Meanwhile, Wu is set to begin his German Masters campaign against Jordan Brown on Monday afternoon at 14:00 with Xiao facing Robbie Williams at 09:00 on Tuesday, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
