Kyren Wilson’s decision-making was questioned after he took on a "monumental" shot in the final of the Masters against John Higgins, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Having dispatched an impressive long red, The Warrior, compromised on the baulk cushion, was odds on to roll up behind the yellow. However, the 2024 world champion elected to take the brown on to the middle pocket - and he missed it.
It left Neal Foulds on commentary scratching his head.
"He is going to have to play the roll-up," began Foulds on commentary as the 34-year-old sized up the table.
However, it began to dawn on Foulds that Wilson was considering another option.
"What is he playing here? Is he going for the brown? Wow. This is a massive shot," Foulds queried.
Wilson missed.
"Honestly, I can’t believe what I am seeing. These are great players but that is a monumental shot to play," Foulds commented.
"I am amazed. I am amazed by that shot Kyren has played."
Despite the error, Wilson would prevail in an untidy frame to open up a 8-5 lead.
