After going out of the China Open qualifiers in the final round in Leicester last week, losing 6-1 to a heavy-scoring Chang Bingyu, Lisowski suffered more misery at the city's Mattioli Arena in failing to qualify for the final stage of the Wuhan ranking event.
Yao distributed similar punishment among the balls as breaks of 108, 106., 57, 53 and 52 booked his trip to China and a last 32-meeting with Ronnie O'Sullivan or Ashley Carty, whose match has been held over to the finals venue.
It has been a profitable few days for world No. 79 Yao, who defeated Reanne Evans (6-1), Thepchaiya Un-Nooh (6-3) and He Guoqiang (6-2) to qualify for the China Open.
Lisowski joins Luca Brecel in suffering an early exit at the season's opening two ranking events after the 2023 world champion lost 5-1 to Steven Hallworth in the second qualifying round.
Brecel was also deprived of an appearance at the China Open by Stuart Bingham, who eased to a 6-0 whitewash victory.
But Bingham was also on the wrong end of a surprise loss himself on Thursday as he lost 5-1 to Daniel Wells, who booked a last-32 match with Mark Allen or Michael Holt, boosted by breaks of 117, 65 and 51.

Elsewhere, Gary Wilson gained a measure of revenge for his 6-5 loss to Aaron Hill at the China Open as the 2025 Wuhan finalist produced a closing run of 65 to complete a 5-4 win from 3-1 down.
Irish potter Hill had completed a similar comeback from 4-0 down in China Open qualifying.
Wilson's last-32 assignment is a meeting with Ding Junhui or Liam Davies.
Meanwhile, Ryan Day dumped Elliot Slessor 5-1, with David Gilbert defeating Noppon Saengkham by the same scoreline.
Qualifying for the Wuhan Open (live on TNT Sports and HBO Max, August 23-29) concludes on Thursday with matches involving the world's top 16 all held over to the finals venue.
Xiau Guodong is chasing a third straight title at the event following final victories over Si Juihui (10-7) in 2024 and Gary Wilson (10-9) in 2025.
