The Frenchman finished just ahead of Switzerland's Alex Fiva in the big final to open up an unassailable lead at the top of the World Cup standings over compatriot Jean-Frederic Chapuis. Midol had all but secured his first crystal globe with a first win of the season on Saturday, and clinched it in style by winning every race on his way to another success on Sunday.
That success pushes him to 696 points, more than 200 clear of Chapuis, a previous crystal globe winner, with just one race to go.
Fiva is in third, and could yet overhaul Chapuis on home snow in Veysonnaz next month.
Meanwhile in the women's event Fanny Smith emulated Midol with her second straight victory, and is now in touching distance of an overall victory.
The Swiss got the better of Sanna Luedi in the final, with Alizee Baron third, to secure a sixth win of the season.
That takes her to 763 points, a lead of 88 over Sweden's Sandra Naeslund who could only finish fifth and is set to relinquish the title she won a year ago.
