IRELAND STUN ENGLAND WITH RECORD-BREAKING WIN AT TWICKENHAM
Ireland produced a brilliant performance to stun England 42-21 and inflict a second-straight defeat on Steve Borthwick’s side.
The visitors made history by scoring five tries on the way to their biggest ever points tally at Twickenham; only France have scored more at England’s home.
Tries from Jamison Gibson-Park, Robert Baloucoune, Tommy O’Brien, Dan Sheehan and Jamie Osborne put England to the sword and ended their nine-match winning streak at home.
Ireland got the first points of the match, with Jack Crowley converting a penalty awarded for offside after a period of sustained pressure.
England fought back hard, putting together attack after attack on Ireland, but they wasted a number of huge opportunities to score the first try of the match.
Against the run of play, it was Ireland that notched the first try of the match, with Gibson-Park scoring. He took a quick tap from a penalty in England’s 22 and snuck over the line to get Ireland’s first try.
The visitors doubled their try tally just eight minutes later, with Baloucoune walking over in the corner after Stuart McCloskey’s breakaway.
Things went from bad to worse for England as Freddie Steward was awarded a yellow card for an infringement in the lead up to the try.
Ireland wasted no time in making the most of the extra man, with replacement O'Brien charging over after more brilliant work by Baloucoune.
England managed to grab a consolation score right at the end of the first half. After a sustained period of pressure, Fraser Dingwall bundled over for their first try of the afternoon.
However, Borthwick’s side were unable to capitalise on their momentum, with Sheehan bundling over for a bonus-point try at the start of the second half.
Ireland just kept going at England in a series of attacks that also saw Henry Pollock sent to the sin-bin on his first Test start and eventually Sheehan snuck over the line.
Lawrence provided a brief fightback in the second half, walking over the try-line after England worked the ball well in midfield.
Osborne was awarded a yellow card for an infringement in the build up to the try but, yet again, England were unable to capitalise on any momentum.
Crowley kicked a further two penalties to take Ireland to their record points tally at Twickenham, before Osborne stormed through for his side’s fifth try of the afternoon.
Sam Underhill scored a consolation try for the hosts late on, but it was too little too late. Borthwick's side now face a difficult trip to Italy in two weeks' time, while Ireland host Wales next up, with their chances of winning the Six Nations growing.

MARO ITOJE: IT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH
"The first half, we turned the ball over too much and weren't clinical in their half. It was not the result or performance that we wanted, so as players we have to take responsibility and be better.
"Ultimately, we were not accurate. We got into good positions, but we didn't come away with points. It is not good enough and we will be working hard to get it right.
"We need to look after the ball, make sure our possession is accurate. We turned the ball over too much," said Maro Itoje to ITV.

DAN SHEEHAN: THAT PERFORMANCE IS ONE OF THE BEST WE HAVE HAD
"We are such a hungry group, we believe in ourselves a lot. We have been in the pump from the media, but we had big support here and we tapped in to that. That performance is one of the best we have had.
"We stuck together really well and ignored people saying 'Ireland need regenerating'. When we all come together, we can make special things happen. To get a win at Twickenham is pretty special.
"I think the manager just reminds us if we get it right, we can beat anyone. All the talk of England putting pressure on us, we countered that really well. Andy Farrell gives us incredible belief, as do the whole coaching group.
"I think we need to keep an eye on our scrum, people are getting very good at it. We want to play a nice brand of rugby, but we need to nail set pieces as well.
"When you are at an away ground like this, it is about the way you start. We did a great job coming out the blocks. When we are playing at the line and keeping defenders guessing, we know we are on it," said Dan Sheehan to ITV.
