SEVEN-TRY FRANCE WHITEWASH WALES IN SIX NATIONS OPENER
France made a purposeful start to their Six Nations title bid with a comprehensive 43-0 rout of Wales.
Theo Attissogbe and Louis Bielle-Biarrey scored two tries each, while Julien Marchand, Emilien Gailleton and Gregory Alldritt also crossed for the dominant hosts at Stade de France.
Wales had no answer as they suffered a record-extending 13th successive Test defeat, while they failed to score a point in a Six Nations match for the first time since 1998.
Fabien Galthie's side took control of the contest with the brilliance of the returning Antoine Dupont setting up both of Attissogbe's tries.
Bielle-Biarrey also went over twice – the second after a powerful lineout surge – to secure a bonus point for the hosts before the break.
The scoring continued in the 55th minute through substitute front row Marchand, as another lineout came to fruition for France.
Romain Ntamack's cross-kick set up Gailleton for the sixth try, though the fly-half – making his first international appearance in 17 months – was red-carded soon after for a dangerous high tackle.
Nevertheless, the hosts finished with a flourish as Alldritt rounded off an impressive individual display by crossing in the dying moments.

"WE'VE GOT TO STAY TIGHT AS A GROUP"
Wales captain Jac Morgan called for togetherness as his side desperately look to end their slump against Italy in Rome next week.
"It was a tough night," he said. "We're obviously disappointed with the result. We know how dangerous France can be. They capitalised on any indiscipline and mistakes. If you make a mistake against a team like France, they'll punish you.
"There was a lot of good there and a lot of promise. We've got to stay tight as a group and keep on building over the next few weeks.
"We know how tight and close we are as a group. We want to keep on getting better and improving. That's what we'll do this week."

"WE'VE ONLY DONE 20 PER CENT OF THE JOB"
Gregory Alldritt, today's Player of the Match, insists France must stay humble, despite their purposeful start to the Six Nations Championship.
"The key was to play as a team," he said. "We've got a lot of really good individual players, but we wanted to play as a team.
We're happy with the win tonight, but we've only done 20 per cent of the job. We've got four more games to go, so we've got to stay focused and go back to work on Monday."
On the returning Antoine Dupont, he added: "We know that the team is different when he's here. He's the best player in the world, and we're really happy to have him in the team. He brings lots of energy to the other players."
Assessing France's chances of winning the Championship, he said: "We want to win it, but we need to stay humble."

A STATEMENT OF INTENT FROM THE FAVOURITES
Widely regarded as the favourites to win this year's Six Nations, France staked their claim with a dominant performance against Wales.
Antoine Dupont shone on his Six Nations return with an all-action display, while he played a key role in two of the seven tries his side ran in.
Crucially, too, Les Bleus' defensive discipline to not concede any points will have impressed Fabien Galthie.
On a run of 12 successive Test defeats, it was always going to be a big ask for Wales to stop the rot here.
Unfortunately, it was not even close in the end, with Warren Gatland's side outclassed in Paris.

DUPONT'S WORK IS DONE
The France skipper is given a very well-earned rest following a wonderful return to the Six Nations.
He goes off in one of three changes made by Galthie, who freshens things up with half an hour remaining.
