SARACENS CLOSE IN ON EXETER WITH DOMINANT WIN

Saracens moved within three points of Exeter in the Gallagher PREM table on Saturday evening with a dominant win over Gloucester.

The hosts dominated the first half as Rotimi Segun scored on seven and 13 minutes, with Fergus Burke notching a conversion and a penalty before the end of the first period.

Ben Earl and Theo Dan added early second-half tries, and substitute Owen Farrell came on to contribute experience and his own conversion.

There was late hope for the visitors when Dan was given a yellow for a high tackle, giving Will Joseph the space to score two late tries, which were both converted.

A bonus point for the home side makes the last two games in the battle for fourth with Exeter all the more tense.

For Gloucester, the defeat represents another setback in a disappointing season.
