The Cherry and Whites struggled to find their rhythm in the early stages, conceding soft penalties and making handling errors, allowing Northampton to maintain control. Ross Byrne reduced the deficit with a long-range penalty, but Gloucester’s first-half performance left them trailing at the break.
Will Joseph produced a stunning individual try, breaking from inside his own half, cutting infield and selling a dummy to create space to cross under the posts. Byrne converted, sparking hope for the home side. The momentum swung further as Cam Jordan, James Venter, and Afo Fasogbon each crossed for tries in a series of powerful drives and Byrne’s kicking kept Gloucester in touch.

Despite the pressure, Northampton showed remarkable composure in the closing minutes. Anthony Belleau slotted a crucial penalty from wide left to regain the lead and Saints expertly managed possession in the final moments, denying Gloucester any opportunity to strike back. Defensive interventions, including a massive tackle from Rory Hutchinson to stop Ben Loader near the corner proved key in securing the win.
