Bristol Bears and Leicester Tigers went into the break tied at 17-17 in a thrilling first half at Ashton Gate. Leicester opened the scoring through Adam Radwan who finished a slick move from a central scrum, before the Tigers extended their lead with a 70-metre team try involving Jack van Poortvliet and Radwan.Orlando Bailey converted one of the two tries though he missed a long-range attempt that hit the upright.

Bristol hit back with their forwards’ trademark catch-and-drive with captain Fitz Harding powering over for his 50th game as skipper. The hosts then produced a flowing move down the left-hand blindside, finished by Gabriel Ibitoye after clever handling from George Kloska and Benhard Janse van Rensburg. Tom Jordan’s conversion from wide brought the scores level at 17-17, setting up a fiercely competitive half.
However, the Bears were rocked by injuries to key playmakers AJ MacGinty and Harry Randall, forcing reshuffles with Jordan moving to fly-half, Kieran Marmion at scrum-half and Josh Carrington at full-back.

Despite the setbacks Steven Luatua impressed with powerful runs and line breaks, while Leicester’s Radwan remained a constant threat.
Bristol came out of the break determined to maintain control, Tom Jordan added a penalty to extend their lead to 20-17. Leicester responded immediately with Jack van Poortvliet and Adam Radwan linking up for a brilliant 70-metre try, but Bristol stayed in touch thanks to strong defence and powerful carries from their forwards.

Injuries continued to challenge the Bears with AJ MacGinty and Harry Randall already off the field and later Steven Luatua limping out forcing reshuffles that saw Joe Owen and Kieran Marmion come on.
Despite these setbacks, Bristol showcased their attacking flair with Gabriel Ibitoye scoring a fourth try from a well-executed maul and debutant Josh Carrington crossing for another score, displaying blistering pace and composure.

Leicester pressed hard late on with Orlando Bailey exploiting a missed tackle to score and the Tigers forcing penalties close to the try line. Yet, heroic defence from the home side including critical stops from Ollie Hassell-Collins and Harry Thacker kept them out.
The game ended with Louis Rees-Zammit sealing the win for Bristol with a 65-metre runaway try, Tom Jordan adding the extras to cap a dominant and resilient performance from the Bears.
