The visitors battled back late through Alex Hearle, who crossed for two tries, but it proved insufficient against Bath’s relentless attack. Newcastle struggled to handle the pace and precision of Bath’s backline and repeated turnovers allowed the home side to continuously threaten the try line.
Key performances up front from Tom Dunn, Thomas du Toit and Charlie Ewels helped Bath secure dominance in the set-piece, while the back row of Bayliss, Hill and Guy Pepper provided relentless pressure at the breakdown.
