England and Saracens hooker Jamie George has revealed that he hopes to stay within rugby union in a coaching capacity after he retires.
George has agreed a one-year contract extension with Saracens, which will see him play for the club in the 2026/27 season.
The former England captain announced he will then retire from playing in 2027, but has now given an insight into what his future plans could be.
Speaking to David Flatman and Craig Doyle as part of TNT Sports' 'Breakdown' show, George said: "I love the analysis side of the game. I love the understanding that we need to have and then going out and being able to implement that. I love seeing improvement."
George added that he is open to coaching and punditry, expressing the passion he has for the game and his desire to stay within it after retirement.
The 35-year-old hooker has been capped 105 times for England since making his debut in 2015, playing in three World Cups for his country.
He has won three Six Nations titles with England, including a Grand Slam in 2016. George was also selected for three British & Irish Lions tours.
"I'd like to stay involved in the game in some capacity as well," George admitted.
"Whether that's a little bit of coaching, a little bit of punditry if there's something there, I'd love to do that.
"I love the game, and it's been my life for such a long period of time. I am passionate about it, I care about it. I'd love to stick around if anyone would have me."
George has played the entirety of his professional career with Saracens, making more than 300 appearances for the club and winning a host of honours, including six Premiership titles and three European Champions Cups.
George also complimented Flatman's work on TNT Sports when it came to explaining scrums on broadcast.
"I love the scrum stuff. And I do think there needs to be more of that," George explained.
"We were watching a game at the weekend on a different channel. There's so much going on that we can talk about, but instead it was 'Oh here we go, another five minutes running the clock down.' There's so much going on and I think it's brilliant."
