LEICESTER TIGERS EASE PAST QUINS WITH BONUS-POINT VICTORY
Leicester Tigers put Harlequins to the sword to go second with a bonus-point 40-7 victory at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.
Tries from Adam Radwan (3), Ollie Hassell-Collins (2) and Henro Liebenberg ensured the Tigers picked up their fourth consecutive victory as they tightened their grip on a top-four position with just three matches to play.
Leicester opened the scoring after a tense opening 17 minutes, with Radwan diving over in the corner after Tigers worked the ball wide to Freddie Steward, who fed the electric winger.
Quins were then reduced to 14 men after Cameron Anderson was shown a yellow card for tackling Steward in the air.
The visitors nearly made it through the sin-bin period, but Tigers doubled their try tally through an excellent Hassell-Collins score.
Jack van Poortvliet broke down the blindside from the back of the scrum, causing havoc in the Quins defence, before the hosts worked the ball wide to Hassell-Collins, who went past the last Quins defender to score.
Harlequins fought back right at the end of the first half through Luke Northmore, who intercepted a wayward Handre Pollard pass, before running the length of the pitch to score under the posts.

The visitors were put down to 14 for the majority of the second half after a second incident in the air between Anderson and Steward saw the Quins winger shown a second yellow card.
Anderson was knocked unconscious during the incident and was stretchered off by medical staff after a lengthy period of treatment on the pitch.
Quins' disastrous start to the second half continued when Tyrone Green was shown a yellow card for a deliberate knock-on, putting the visitors down to 13 for 10 minutes.
Radwan wasted no time capitalising on the Tigers’ two-man advantage, diving over in the corner for his second of the afternoon following more brilliant work by van Poortvliet.
Hassell-Collins then doubled his tally and secured the bonus-point for Leicester, collecting a fantastic pass from Joseph Woodward before scoring.
Radwan was not satisfied with two tries and his hat-trick score after 58 minutes was the pick of the bunch, weaving past three Quins defenders to score his third of the afternoon and the Tigers’ fifth.
Liebenberg piled more misery on the visitors with minutes to play, charging over from a few yards out after some nice work by replacement Ben Youngs, who announced this week he will retire at the end of the season.
Leicester now face a mouth-watering clash with third-placed Sale Sharks in two weeks’ time on home soil, with a victory surely securing their place in the top four.
Quins' season seems to be over now as they languish down in seventh after yet another damaging defeat; they have conceded 192 points across the last four games in all competitions.
