RUSSELL-INSPIRED BATH RESIST LATE LEICESTER FIGHTBACK TO END 29-YEAR WAIT FOR PREMIERSHIP GLORY
Bath completed a glorious treble as they ended a 29-year wait for Gallagher Rugby Premiership glory with an epic 23-21 over a battling Leicester Tigers at a baking Allianz Stadium Twickenham.
Having already won the Premiership Rugby Cup and Challenge Cup, Bath were strong favourites to emerge victorious before an 80,000 sell-out crowd, but were rocked back early on as Jack van Poortvliet's try on six minutes gave the Tigers a 7-0 lead.
In what was a cagey affair dictated by the heat and humidity of the conditions, Johann van Graan's side finally made their pace and power count with Thomas du Toit (27') and Max Ojomoh (50') going over either side of half-time to earn Bath a dominant 20-7 lead.
The match looked finished when player-of-the-match Guy Pepper appeared to add a third try on 61 minutes, but a knock-on by Will Muir saw the TMO disallow the effort before Leicester mounted an unlikely late comeback with tries from Solomone Kata (68') and Emeka Ilione (76') setting up a grandstand finish.
But the boot and brilliance of Finn Russell, who kicked three penalties and two conversions, helped the new English champions scramble over the line to a historic seventh Premiership victory with the Scotland fly-half intercepting Handre Pollard's pass to brilliantly set up Ojomoh's key score.
The retiring England great Dan Cole was yellow carded seconds after coming on for a late challenge on Russell, who slotted the key penalty before booting the ball out of play in relief as much as joy in his final act as the 14 men of Leicester came up just short of becoming the first side in a Premiership final to recover a 13-point deficit.

TNT SPORTS REPORTER ROB HEMINGWAY AT ALLIANZ STADIUM TWICKENHAM
"Scenes of delirium all over Twickenham as Bath rejoice in finally landing the big one. An unusually emotional Johann Van Graan knelt for a moment's contemplation and skipper Ben Spencer looked close to happy tears.
"What can this expertly coached group go on to achieve from here? For now, it's party time."

IT IS ALL OVER! FINAL RESULT: BATH 23-21 LEICESTER!
What a fabulous final. Bath end 29 years of hurt to become English champions for the first time since 1996 as Russell hammers the ball into the stands. Leicester fought so valiantly, but Bath did well to compose themselves and secure the ball. A deserving victory in the end.

BATH SO CLOSE TO THE VICTORY!
Just need to see it out now. Cries of use it from the referee. But Bath will use it when they are good and ready. When the final whistle goes.

BATH LOOKING TO SLOW IT DOWN
All about treating that ball with as much respect as the Gallagher Premiership trophy. This entire season coming down to the final two minutes of the campaign in the blistering London heat. Youngs with the up and under, but Muir gathers it brilliantly out of the sky. Bath just have to keep ball here.

TRY! BATH 23-21 LEICESTER
Less than five minutes of regulation time remaining, but Bath can't handle the power of the 14-man Tigers as Ilione gives several players the slip before spinning to go over with plenty of hands on his back. Pollard adds the two, and this final is cut down to two. Bath lead 23-21. Phew! Far from a done deal now.

WATCH: IS THIS THE FINAL ACT OF DAN COLE'S GOLDEN CAREER?
Not the way he would have wanted it to end. 14-man Leicester back on the attack here. Five yards from the Bath line with the big boys involved. Bath trying to desperately defend. Just happy to concede penalties in these closing minutes.

BATH EXTEND LEAD TO 23-14!
Finn Russell has been such a key man today for Bath, and he comes up with three points from the penalty as Dan Cole, in his final game, is handed a harsh yellow card for a late challenge on the Scotland fly-half. Bath so close to the big pot now. Can feel it.

Will they look back on this moment with huge regret later tonight? Nothing like making life difficult for yourself.

TRY! BATH 20-14 LEICESTER
Just when you thought this final was a done deal, the Tigers show their teeth to reduce the deficit to only six points. Phew! what a finish we have now here. Kata got the ball down under pressure, and Pollard adds the bonus. Suddenly, this final is down to only six points when it looked all over after Pepper's disallowed try. Fine margins.

CAN THE TIGERS FIND SOME QUICK BALL?
Up to 17 phases in the Bath half, but they shipped a try from a similar position earlier in the second half. Frantic attacking moments by Leicester, who are given a penalty advantage. Inches from the Bath line.

TIME FOR BATH TO SHUFFLE THE PACK
Barbeary and Bayliss are both introduced for the Bath 'bomb squad' as Leicester and England icon Dan Cole is given a glorious reception from all parts of the stadium for his final match before hanging them up.

NO TRY! BATH 20-7 LEICESTER!
Such a great score from Pepper to give the Bath muscle the slip out wide, but Muir knocked on in trying to grab the ball on the deck seconds earlier. Right call, but such a disappointing moment for Bath, who must regroup.

TRY! BATH 25-7 LEICESTER
Is that game, set and match? Surely feels like the pivotal moment as Pepper with a surging powerhouse run out wide. Superb upper body strength, and he goes over the line. But the try is going to be disallowed by the TMO for a knock-on...

LEICESTER NEED TO CREATE HISTORY HERE
No team has come from 13 points down to win a Premiership final. Youngs with a brilliant clearance to drag Tigers up to halfway. But Bath simply need to keep their cool in the heat. Which they've been doing all season.

CAN LEICESTER TIGERS MOUNT A RECOVERY?
Their 7-0 lead seems a long time ago now. Perese has replaced Woodward for Leicester as they try to remain buoyant in this final. Which is easier said than done. Ben Youngs is also on with Jack van Poortvliet off. Ilione is also on for Reffell.
