George Ford and Owen Farrell are "two of the best No. 10s there has ever been", according to TNT Sports expert and former Scotland international Stuart Hogg. The England team-mates went head-to-head as Sale Sharks hosted Farrell's Saracens in the Gallagher Premiership on Friday. Hogg described them as "two of the best passers I've ever seen" before the match.

Hogg hails Ford and Farrell as 'two of the best 10s ever'

Stuart Hogg has described George Ford and Owen Farrell as “two of the best 10s there has ever been” as the pair faced off in Friday’s Gallagher Premiership clash between Sale Sharks and Saracens.
The two England internationals went head-to-head in a repeat of last season’s Premiership final, where their battle for control from stand-off was a key battle.
Hogg heaped praise on the England duo, who played a big part in guiding Steve Borthwick’s side to third place at the 2023 Rugby World Cup, and have eight Premiership titles and 203 Test caps between them.
“I think you’ve got two of the best 10s there has ever been in the game," Hogg said on TNT Sports. "They are two unbelievable talents in their own right.
“They are proper game drivers for their side; everything good around Sale happens around George Ford, and on the flip side everything good around Saracens happens around Owen Farrell.
“[They are] two guys who have a massive influence in everything that happens in their side.
“I think both of these guys have added different elements to their game over the last couple of years. More running threats, their distribution skills are unbelievable.
“I reckon we’ve got two of the best passers of a rugby ball I’ve ever seen, and I don’t say that lightly. These guys are just incredible.”

Farrell and Ford’s battle for the starting No. 10 shirt for England, along with Harlequins playmaker Marcus Smith, has been a big talking point around the international side.
But Farrell announced earlier in December that he will not take part in the 2024 Six Nations as he takes a break from international rugby to focus on his mental health.
Ford and Smith are therefore expected to fight it out for the shirt come February, when Steve Borthwick’s side begin their Six Nations campaign away to Italy.
