Bath Rugby have won the race to sign former St Helens star Regan Grace, who made the switch from rugby league to rugby union despite a career-threatening Achilles injury. The 27-year-old played 143 times and scored 89 tries across six seasons in rugby league, but is yet to make a competitive appearance in rugby union. Grace has represented Wales six times in league.

Bath have signed former rugby league star Regan Grace until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The 27-year-old left rugby league giants St Helens in 2022, having played 143 times and scored 89 tries across six seasons with the Merseyside club.
Grace ruptured his Achilles in August 2022 while playing for St Helens before switching from league to union and signing for Top 14 side Racing 92.
However, a relapse of the injury in February 2023 meant that the Wales international failed to make an appearance for the French club.
He initially joined Bath Rugby in February to recover from the long-term injury, playing in two friendlies against Gloucester Rugby and Leinster in March.
He now looks set to feature next term after signing a deal with the Blue, Black, and Whites that includes the option of him staying for the 2025-26 campaign.
“Regan has impressed both on and off the pitch over the last few months," said Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan.
"He has a clear point of difference in his play and that will be very valuable for our team.
"It’s great to have Regan on board.”

Port Talbot native Grace won three Grand Finals and a Challenge Cup while donning the Red V and also represented his native Wales during an impressive league career.
He has joined a side on the up with Bath currently sitting in second in the Gallagher Premiership Rugby table, five points off league leaders Northampton Saints with just three matches remaining.
Grace also joins an ever-growing list of exciting options out wide for Bath boss Van Graan to pick from.
England international Joe Cokanasiga has enjoyed an outstanding 12 months at The Recreation Ground, scoring six tries, while Will Muir has been rewarded for his wizardry out wide with an appearance, and a try, for England A.
Their performances have helped Bath to their best season since the 2014-15 campaign, where they finished second in the league before falling to a 28-16 defeat against Saracens in the Gallagher Premiership Rugby Final.
Bath will look to complete their first league double over defending champions Saracens in over 20 years on Saturday after ending an eight-year Sandy Park curse with a 26-14 triumph over Exeter Chiefs last weekend.
However, Grace's signing suggests that Bath won't be resting on their laurels ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
