South Africa 43-0 Wales - Nations Championship result as the seven-try Springboks make it three wins from three

South Africa made it three wins from three in the Nations Championship thanks to 43-0 rout of Wales on Saturday.

Jesse Kriel and Kurt-Lee Arendse were among those to touch down as the Springboks scored seven unanswered tries against their despondent opponents in Durban.

Just four minutes had elapsed at Kings Park when Jasper Wiese powered over, while Cobus Reinach also raced for the line inside the opening quarter of an hour.

Debutants Vusi Moyo and Jaco Williams combined just before half-time to set up Kriel for his 23rd international try, while Williams got in on the act himself just after the restart.

Wales, who were unable to convert their own opportunities, were breached again in the 62nd minute as Herschel Jantjies crossed after a one-two with Williams, before Arendse went over for his 25th Springboks try in 32 Tests.

Player of the match Paul de Villiers had the final word late on with his first try for South Africa, who top the southern section with a perfect record after the opening flurry of matches.

Wales knew exactly what awaited them, having been on the receiving end of a 73-0 drubbing in Cardiff eight months earlier.

The manner of this defeat wasn't quite so heavy, but it still represented another commanding loss.

Wales did have their moments and managed to get themselves into decent positions, but were unable to convert them and trouble the scoreboard operators.

In the end, they simply had no answer for the superior Springboks, who cruised to victory in Durban.

An 11th straight Test victory was no great surprise for the Springboks, who were heavy favourites to achieve that here.

As expected, it was fairly straightforward, despite Rassie Erasmus making 10 changes from last weekend, and naming four debutants.

Two of them made a decent impact with Jaco Williams scoring a try, while Vusi Moyo was impressive from the kicking tee.

Nevertheless, it doesn't matter how good you are, there's always room for improvement.

It seems that's the case, as South Africa did make a number of handling errors on the greasy surface, which is something they may be more severely punished for when facing stronger tests.

Despite their far from fluent display, they still have seven tries for their efforts today.

The last of these gives De Villiers his first at international level, as he battles his way over.

Libbok converts this time for his first points of the day.

Mee gets his attempted punt all wrong, allowing Willemse to counter for the Springboks.

The latter feeds it inside for De Allende, but he loses the ball forward after failing to get it under control.

That's now an eighth penalty South Africa have conceded today.

It's not quite been vintage South Africa today, but more than enough to sweep Wales aside.

This will be an 11th straight Test victory for the Springboks.

They have try number six as the ball is brilliantly worked out to the left, following Jantjies' impressive offload.

It allows Arendse to get on the scoresheet with his 25th try in 32 Tests.

Libbok can't convert again, though, from a tight angle.

Wales' task becomes even more difficult, as they are reduced to 14 men.

There's a TMO review of Warren's challenge on Van Staden in the build-up to the try, with the former seemingly leading with his shoulder.

The referee deems it worthy enough of 10 minutes in the bin, though the decision is under review and could be upgraded to red.

There's still time, though, for the Springboks to turn the screw further.

Wales won't want reminding of the 73-0 pummelling they suffered when the sides met in Cardiff eight months ago.

As things stand, they're set to go two successive meetings without even scoring a point.

Wales see another chance go begging, as they patiently push towards the try line.

It comes to nothing, with the visitors penalised for not releasing following good defensive work by the Springboks.

Both sides make several early changes in the second half.

Wales will hope it gives them renewed energy as they try to make the scoreline respectable.

They have a decent chance to break their duck with a lineout just outside the five metres.

Any hopes of a potential Welsh revival have almost certainly disappeared now.

The hosts go straight onto the attack and Cobus Wiese charges forward, before feeding debutant Williams for an easy stride to the line.
