Despite lifting the Premiership Rugby Cup less than a month ago, Gloucester centre Max Llewellyn acknowledged that his side have "underachieved" in the Gallagher Premiership this season. He urged his side to "put those wrongdoings right" as they prepare for a feisty EPCR Challenge Cup quarter-final encounter with Welsh side Ospreys, live on TNT Sports on Friday.

'Put those wrongdoings right' - Llewellyn sets sights on sealing cup double

Gloucester centre Max Llewellyn has told TNT Sports that his side must put their "wrongdoings right" if they are to advance in the EPCR Challenge Cup.
Despite lifting the Premiership Rugby Cup trophy less than a month ago, Llewellyn noted his side's underwhelming performances in the league and said they must correct their issues if they are to advance past Ospreys to reach the EPCR Challenge Cup semi-final.
Gloucester had not won a trophy for nine years before their 23-13 win over Leicester Tigers in the Premiership Rugby Cup final in March. They are now eyeing a double trophy swoop for the 2023-24 season despite sitting second from bottom in the Gallagher Premiership.
Asked about the importance of the cup triumph, Llewellyn said: "It was huge. To get a win to put us back on the right track, in terms of silverware to this club cause you know its rich and that's something we're always going to strive (towards).
"We probably have underachieved, I think especially with the calibre of players we have in the squad in the Prem, so now were just looking to put those wrongdoings right with obviously the Prem and the European (cup)."
Llewellyn, who debuted for Wales' senior team in their Rugby World Cup warm-ups against England last year, is relishing the atmosphere that promises to fill the Kingsholm Stadium with the visit of the Welsh side.
The 25-year-old spoke of his enjoyment partaking in clashes between Welsh and English sides, and his previous allegiances in Cardiff have added more fuel to the fire in his bid to halt Ospreys' cup run.
"A lot of times in the game you're so dialled in you don't actually realise what's going on," he said. "You can't hear the crowd its kind of all blocked out its only until a stoppage in play that you hear it.
"But that moment for me when you run from one end all the way past the shed and back in, it's fantastic. It gets the hair going on your arms.

'I love these derbies' - Llewellyn excited about 'fantastic' clash against Ospreys

"Especially being from Wales, I love these derbies of Welsh playing English.
"I think it's fantastic, its a bit more. Playing the Ospreys, you know I have plenty of rivalries with them myself, so it should be a really good game.
"Being at Cardiff, there was a bit of a rivalry there and it's never a team I want to lose to really."
Gloucester's bid to book a place in the EPCR Challenge Cup semi-finals is live on TNT Sports and discovery+. The winner of the tie will face either Benetton or Connacht next month.
