MARNER MAGIC
And if that hit didn't hurt the Czechia players enough in their quarter-final against Canada, then an overtime winner for the nine-time champions surely did.

'FIGHTING FOR WINS'

Britain's women are still in the curling contest after beating Japan tonight.
They must now beat hosts Italy on Thursday and hope for other results to fall their way to stay in medal contention.
Sophie Sinclair said: "We're used to getting into that stage of a championship where we have to really fight for the wins. We've done that with Europeans and stuff.
"We're kind of used to gritting our teeth and getting that performance. But I think the main thing is we've just sat together and just been like we need to enjoy every moment that we're on the ice.
"The atmosphere out there is amazing so we're just trying to soak it all in and hopefully the more wins we get, the more games we get."

IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Italy took silver in the women's 3000m relay a little earlier which means that Arianna Fontana is now their most decorated Olympian.

It was the 14th medal of Fontana's Olympic career, eclipsing the record of fencer Edoardo Mangiarotti who won 13 medals between 1936 and 1960.

'IN CONFIDENT MOOD'
TNT Sports pundit Laura Robson: "The curlers are in confident mood, they know they are in the conversation at least but every team is so strong. It can get away from you quite quickly, you just need one bad end.

"To see them come back and play aggressively today is the most important thing. Spirits are still high."

I have no idea how any of them stay on their feet in this event. It's choreographed skating chaos!
Literally as I type it the superstar Dutch are down and into the wall! They carry on as it's a long race but surely they can't get in the medals now...

RELAY RACING
Next up on track is the women's 3000m relay which involves skaters on the inside of the track looping in to take over and get a push from their team-mate. It looks outlandishly difficult and an accident waiting to happen each lap!
And there we go - the USA are down!
