MARQUEZ CLINCHES 100TH GRAND PRIX WIN AFTER DRAMATIC BATTLE
Marc Marquez returned from surgery to secure a 100th career Grand Prix victory in Hungary.
The Ducati Lenovo Team rider is the third rider of all time to win a century of Grand Prix races, joining Italian legends Giacomo Agostini and Valentino Rossi in the record books.
After clinching last year’s championship Marquez missed the end of last season after crashing in Indonesia.

Despite still returning to fitness, Marquez recorded a weekend double and also qualified quickest at Grand Prix Hungary.
After dominating the previous day’s Sprint event, Marquez was pushed closely by Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) on this occasion.
From lights out, a huge crash impacted the race, as title challenger Jorge Martin wiped out Aprilia Racing team-mate and title rival Marco Bezzecchi in the opening turn, along with Raul Fernandez, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Fermin Aldeguer.
Acosta started quickly on the soft rear tyre and passed Marquez before building a sizable lead of two seconds.
However, Marquez, on the medium rear tyre, came fighting back and the pair tussled for the lead at the mid-race point.
It was Marquez who prevailed and established a winning margin ahead of Acosta. Meanwhile, after surviving the dramatic opening lap crash, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) finished a comfortable third.
Heading into the ninth of 22 rounds, the Aprilia Racing pair of Bezzecchi and Martin lead the overall standings on 180 and 160 points respectively.

BAGNAIA: ‘I KEPT CALM TO MAINTAIN GAP’
Third place finisher Francesco Bagnaia said that his aim was to maintain the gap ahead of fourth after not having the same pace of the leading two riders.
He said: ”As soon as I released the clutch, I span a bit, so I didn't do a good start.
”When I started to break I just saw something arriving so fast, and it was (Jorge) Martin arriving double of the speed.
”Maybe he was too inside and locked the front, because new tarmac on corner one was very slippery.
”I knew from the beginning, that it wasn't my race to fight against the first two riders. I tried to follow during the first laps, and then I said, ‘okay, calm, I have three plus seconds (advantage over fourth) from the effort’.
”I just maintained the gap, and it was enough. Today, I didn't have the speed of the first two, and I was already lucky enough.”
