GLORY FOR MARQUEZ ON HOME SOIL WITH REDEMPTIVE VICTORY IN JEREZ
It was a brilliant day for Alex Marquez, who redeemed his Sprint crash yesterday with a fabulous win in Jerez on home soil.
Marquez won his first-ever premier class victory here a year ago and dominated the Grand Prix after overtaking his brother, Marc, for the lead.
Marc crashed out of the race at Turn 11, a corner he struggled with all weekend, and was followed by his teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, who made it a double DNF for the Ducati factory team.
The championship leader, Marco Bezzecchi, extended his lead at the top of the Riders' Standings with a P2 finish today.
Fabio Di Giannantonio was able to score a double podium this weekend with a P3 finish, continuing his great performance during the sprint yesterday.

MARQUEZ: 'GRESINI ALWAYS BELIEVED IN ME'
Alex Marquez secured his second victory in Jerez, a year after his first win in the premier class, with a dominant performance in the Grand Prix today.
Marquez said: "Not many words to describe at this moment. I mean, we studied a lot at the beginning of the year.
"But you know, this weekend looks like with a good rest in the break that we had for the last few weeks, and we arrived here 100% motivated, with a really good feeling, with a weird, really good flow.
"And today, for me, was clear. I mean, go from the first lap, pushing, trying to take the lead, and from the moment I put my rhythm, I know that the rhythm was really good until the end.
"So thanks to the team, because they never stopped working. They always believed in me. And also to the to all the grandstands, to all the fans, the Spanish fans that are here are amazing."

BEZZECCHI: 'ALEX WAS TOO FAST TODAY'
Marco Bezzecchi managed to secure a second-place finish in the Grand Prix today, extending his lead at the top of the Riders' Standings.
Bezzechi said: "Yeah, I'm very, very happy. Today was super important to have a good race after yesterday, but also because we struggled a bit all weekend.
"So it wasn't easy, and we had a good performance. I'm very happy.
"Alex, for me, was too fast today, but congrats to him.
"I give my best to all the fans, they have been amazing with me, I know I'm not Spanish, but thanks a lot for the support, and now we think about Le Mans."

DI GIANNANTONIO: 'BITTERSWEET FEELING'
It was a wonderful weekend in Jerez for Fabio Di Giannantonio, who pulled off a double podium at the Circuit de Jerez.
Di Giannantonio said: "I must be happy at the end, we've had a great, good weekend.
"It is the first time that here in Jerez, that we are this competitive. So for this, I'm happy, but I think we left something - the decisions about the setup of the bike, the team did amazing.
"The preparation was amazing. Everything was just great. But then I think I misjudged the condition, and I chose the wrong thing.
"So, yeah, happy, but it's because it was my decision. I'm a bit, you know, with a bittersweet feeling."

ALEX WINS ON HOME SOIL FOR SECOND YEAR RUNNING
Alex Marquez wins the Grand Prix Spain for the second year running, redeeming his crash during the sprint race yesterday. He wins in front of his home crowd at the Circuit de Jerez.
Marco Bezzecchi brought it home in second place for Aprilia, extending his lead at the top of the Riders' Standings. Fabio Di Giannantonio made it to the podium again this weekend, rounding off a brilliant weekend in Jerez.
24/25
TRACKHOUSE DUO FINALLY PASS ZARCO
Raul Fernandez was finally able to overtake Johann Zarco for fifth place, putting the Frenchman under pressure from his teammate Ai Ogura. Ogura was practically hugging the rear of the Honda, taking the inside line to overtake Zarco.
Alex Marquez still leads the Grand Prix, with 2.2s of a lead over Marco Bezzecchi. Fabio Di Giannantonio is the only thing holding up Jorge Martin at this point, preventing the Aprilia duo from making it a double podium.
21/25
APRILIA TAKING THE FIGHT TO DUCATI
It has been a brilliant season so far for Jorge Martin, who has made a great comeback from his season's worth of injuries last year. He has picked up a victory this year, and put in great results to land in the top 10. The champion is running in fourth place, having climbed up six positions from 10th place.
This is a great sign for Aprilia, who have won three races so far with three types of tyre compounds and track conditions. What was predicted to be another Ducati year, may work out in Aprilia's favour.
Nonetheless, Alex Marquez remains firmly in the lead of the race, having held a consistent 2s gap to Marco Bezzecchi in second place.
18/25
MARQUEZ COSY IN THE FRONT AS THE LEADING DUCATI
Alex Marquez looks comfortable at the front of the pack, with Marco Bezzecchi falling behind him by 2.1s. This could be the end of Bezzecchi's five-race win streak, unless he can pick up the pace towards the end of the Grand Prix.
The battle between Enea Bastianini and Ai Ogura was reignited, and Ogura was able to snatch seventh place from the KTM rider around the outside. Bastianini clawed it back a moment later, but the Trackhouse rider came out on top.
This middle section of the race has been fairly quiet, with a number of riders having to manage their tyres so that they can push towards the end of the Grand Prix. Johann Zarco has done well to remain in fifth place, despite the fight with the Trackhouse duo.
Fabio Di Giannantonio has also managed to retain a third-place position in the race, hoping to secure a second consecutive podium this weekend.
15/25
BAGNAIA TUMBLES DOWN THE ORDER
Enea Bastianini is back in contention for P7, with Ai Ogura tailing awfully close behind him. The KTM rider has had to hold off the advances of the Trackhouse duo, with Ogura inching closer and closer to his bike.
Francesco Bagnaia managed to overtake Pedro Acosta for 10th place, cementing the fact that Acosta picked up some damage earlier in the race. He ran wide in Lap 1, slowing down on track as he lost a handful of positions to the rest of the pack.
Bagnaia fell from ninth to 19th, meaning that neither Factory Ducati rider will score points for the team. It has made it abundantly clear that Ducati's dominance is over, with Aprilia proving to be a bigger threat than we all initially thought.
The Italian rider headed to the pits on Lap 14, retiring from the race.
12/25
DI GI CLOSING IN ON BEZZECCHI
Fabio Di Giannantonio has come into the fight for the victory, putting pressure on Marco Bezzecchi for P2. Yesterday's podium sitter has closed the gap down to the Aprilia rider, with just a 0.3s gap. Di Giannantonio has more pace in the bag than Bezzecchi and will certainly catch up in the next few laps.
As it stands, Johann Zarco is the only Honda rider in the points. He is running in P5, having held up both KTM riders and the advances of the Trackhouse duo.
Alex Marquez leads with ease, now pulling 1.5s away from Bezzecchi in second place. His teammate, however, is down in 11th place, sandwiched between Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder.
9/25
ACOSTA DROPPING DOWN THE PACK
Raul Fernandez proved to be the victor in the KTM battle, jumping past the duo while Pedro Acosta lost sight of Johann Zarco. Their squabble opened up the way for the Trackhouse riders to sandwich them, with Ai Ogura managing to get past Pedro Acosta on Lap 7.
At the front of the pack, Alex Marquez started to build up a gap to Marco Bezzecchi, who was averaging a pace that was 0.3s slower than the Gresini rider. Bezzecchi has lost his record of leading every Grand Prix lap so far this year, as Alex looks to have this in the bag.
Acosta is dropping down the pack, now falling under pressure from Francesco Bagnaia. This is due to touching with Raul Fernandez at Turn 2 a lap earlier. It was a very brief collision, with neither rider wobbling, but Acosta has certainly picked up some damage on the front of the bike.
6/25
ALEX LEADS COMFORTABLY
This could be another Grand Prix victory in Spain for Alex Marquez, who managed to pull a 0.7s gap to Marco Bezzecchi. Bezzecchi was falling under pressure from Fabio Di Giannantonio on Lap 4, with the VR46 rider snatching the position from Jorge Martin a few corners earlier.
Behind, the KTM riders were scrapping it out for P5, with a repeat of the battle with Johann Zarco playing out from yesterday's sprint storyline. Pedro Acosta was fighting hard to hold Enea Bastianini behind, but Acosta was able to keep him behind and focus on Zarco.
Francesco Bagnaia's luck is slipping from his fingers, as he struggled to climb into the top ten. The Italian rider was stuck behind the Trackhouse duo of Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura, who held a 0.5s gap to the champion.
4/25
MARC CRASHES OUT AFTER ALEX TAKES THE LEAD
At the start of the second lap, Alex Marquez dove down the inside of Marco Bezzecchi in a hunt to challenge his brother for the lead of the race. Alex has been incredibly quick so far this weekend, and would have won the sprint yesterday if not for the rain.
Jorge Martin also had a great start to the race, jumping six places, slotting in right behind his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi.
Alex pulled off a smooth overtake on Marc, gliding around the polesitter after tailing him through the straight. Marc then slid straight out of the race in Sector 4, on the same corner he had struggled on throughout the weekend. At Turn 11 on Lap 3, he ran into the gravel and lost second place.
This leaves Alex open to Bezzecchi's advances as the lone Ducati at the front of the pack.

MARQUEZ LAUNCHES OFF THE LINE
Polesitter Marc Marquez got off to a brilliant start once again, launching off the line to defend hard from Johann Zarco, who was forced to relinquish his second-place starting position.
Meanwhile, the championship leader, Marco Bezzecchi, started in third and ended up in second, after jumping Zarco on the start. It was an amazing start for Bezzecchi, who started to make a move on Marquez ahead with a speedy Aprilia.

WARM UP LAP
The riders have set off on the warm up lap.

FIVE MINUTES TO GO
There are just five minutes to go until we get racing in Jerez. As it stands, it is an incredibly sunny day and there are no chances of rain this afternoon.

CAN ALEX MARQUEZ TAKE IT AT HOME?
Alex Marquez was close to winning the sprint race yesterday, having overtaken his brother for the lead, until he crashed out of the race due to the wet conditions.
It looks like the main threat that holds him back from winning the Grand Prix is Marc Marquez, who was able to win the sprint despite crashing out.
Alex Marquez said: "He is the man to put pressure!"
"It’s true I’ve been feeling good here in Jerez since Friday.
"Yesterday, I did a big mistake, but today I think we have options. Today the wind is stronger, but it should be a good day, and we’ll try our best.
"Today, we have a second chance, as we did last year in Catalunya, so we'll try our best - and try to fight at least for the podium."

HODGSON COLUMN: NO IDEA OF WHAT HAPPENED IN SPRINT
TNT Sports expert Neil Hodgson was left breathless after an action-packed and crash-strewn Sprint at Grand Prix Spain on Saturday ended with Marc Marquez victorious.
The Ducati Lenovo rider was on pole for the first time since last season's Grand Prix Hungary back in August.
However, he beat Johann Zarco to top spot in qualifying on Saturday, giving him a crucial advantage in both Saturday’s Sprint and Sunday’s full-length race.
12:40
WILL THE RAIN AFFECT THE RIDERS AGAIN?
Yesterday saw a shock downpour flip the script during the sprint race, with multiple race leaders crashing out. It all worked out in the end for Marc Marquez, who ran wide into the gravel heading into the final corner, as he was able to head into the pits for a perfectly timed bike swap.
Other riders, including his brother, were not so lucky. Alex Marquez was briefly in the lead of the sprint before crashing out and not having enough time to swap his bike in the closing stages of the race.
At this point, there had been zero dry running across the weekend, with riders having to collect data based on a track with wet splotches littered around. It looks like it will be a dry Grand Prix today, but there could always be another factor that comes into play.
