OGURA CLAIMS MAIDEN VICTORY, TOPPING DOMINANT ALL-APRILIA PODIUM
Ai Ogura has made history in Assen, becoming the first Japanese rider to claim a premier class victory in 22 years.
The Trackhouse rider utilised his brilliant tyre management skills and clean wheel-to-wheel racing to clinch his maiden victory in a chaotic Grand Prix Netherlands that saw six riders retire from the race.
Ogura also leads an all-Aprilia podium, with Raul Fernandez, finishing in second place after jumping Jorge Martin for the position.
The Spaniard has usurped the championship lead from his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, with a third-place finish in Assen.
Bezzecchi suffered a huge crash in the early stages of the race, forfeiting his championship lead and failing to score for two consecutive Grands Prix. He has since been taken to a local hospital to assess his injuries after the high-speed crash.

OGURA: 'SUPER HAPPY FOR MY PEOPLE'
The 25-year-old earned his first victory in the premier class today after a scrap with his fellow Aprilia riders. Ai Ogura cherished his emotional victory, before sharing a message to fans in Japanese.
Ogura said: "It's just fantastic. I don't want to talk so much, because there's not so much to say, I mean, this win.
"I'm super, super happy for my people, and thanks to everybody. No, nothing more. And I would like to say something in Japanese, just a more simple thing."

FERNANDEZ: 'HE MADE THE DIFFERENCE TODAY'
Yesterday's Sprint winner finished in second place during the Grand Prix today after his teammate Ai Ogura pulled off a last-minute overtake to claim the lead. The duo earned yet another one-two finish for Trackhouse.
Fernandez said: "Congrats to Ai, he did a better job with the medium tyre, and I lost too much time behind Jorge anyway.
"Today he made the difference, and yeah, congrats to him. Congrats to the team. We deserve it after too many races fighting for this kind of position.
"To get it, I am so happy for me, for my crew, because they did a really good job, and also for my family."

MARTIN: 'I WAS ON THE LIMIT'
Jorge Martin may not have claimed the win but he usurped the championship lead from his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, after the Spaniard finished in third place while his teammate crashed out of the race.
Martin said: "You know, the important thing for me was that today I did well compared to yesterday.
"I'm always trying to improve with Aprilia and try to make the bike more suited to my riding style today.
"I have to congratulate Ai and Raul. They were really fast. I did my absolute best to try to keep with them until the end, but I was on the limit.
"Leader in the championship for me is an amazing feeling. I've been working so hard, and thank God and all my family, that they're always supporting me."

ALL APRILIA PODIUM AFTER OGURA EARNS FIRST VICTORY FOR TRACKHOUSE

OGURA CLAIMS MAIDEN VICTORY IN ASSEN
Ai Ogura is the winner of the Grand Prix Netherlands, claiming his maiden win in the premier class after a chaotic race saw riders drop out like flies.

DIGI AND MARQUEZ DRAG THE FIGHT TO THE LAST LAP
Fabio Di Giannantonio dropped to sixth place on the penultimate lap after taking his long-lap penalty, but wasted no time at all to overtake Marc Marquez again for fifth place. This split the Marquez brothers, with Alex running in fourth place.
Ai Ogura looks pretty cosy at the front of the pack, could he claim his first victory in the premier class?

OGURA SNATCHES THE LEAD FROM FERNANDEZ WHILE DIGI AND MARQUEZ SCRAP IT OUT
Ai Ogura snatched the lead from Raul Fernandez, sweeping around his teammate to lead the Grand Prix. However, chaos unfolded behind when Fabio Di Giannantonio attempted to overtake Marc Marquez around the inside, but pushed the seven-time world champion off the track toward the end of Lap 20.
This pushed Marquez down to sixth place behind his brother Alex, and Enea Bastianini jumped him too. Little over a lap later, Marquez squeezed his Ducati around the inside of the KTM to regain his sixth place position. He will be waiting for a decision by the stewards after the cheeky move from Di Giannantonio, who may have to give the position back. He was then awarded a long-lap penalty for the move.
Alex Marquez has done well to climb seven positions up to fifth from the start of the race, slotting in between Di Giannantonio and Marquez. If he can keep his bike in place, he could move up to fourth place after the VR46 rider receives the penalty.
The Marquez brothers are both suffering through injuries picked up recently, with Alex suffering a huge crash during practice on Friday.

FERNANDEZ TAKES THE LEAD FOR TRACKHOUSE WITH OGURA RIGHT BEHIND
Technical issues are plaguing the race, with tons of riders having to retire from the Grand Prix seemingly out of nowhere. Riders who were performing well, including Francesco Bagnaia, Toprak Razgatlioglu, and Pedro Acosta, all retired from the race.
Ai Ogura also suffered a technical issue, but managed to keep it on track despite slowing down. Ogura was lucky enough to have built a six-second safety buffer to Marc Marquez running in fourth place. The Trackhouse duo then snatched the lead from Jorge Martin on Lap 18, with Raul Fernandez sweeping past the Aprilia rider.
This then put pressure on Martin, allowing Ogura to overtake the Spaniard for second place. It is a repeated plot line from yesterday's Sprint race which saw Trackhouse claim a one-two finish in Assen. As it stands, it could be an all-Aprilia podium, with Martin usurping the championship lead from his teammate Marco Bezzecchi.
Behind, another battle for fourth place has been ignited with Fabio Di Giannantonio looking to steal the position from Marc Marquez.

RIDERS DROPPING LIKE FLIES AS ACOSTA AND MORBIDELLI OUT
Marc Marquez has some time to rest behind Francesco Bagnaia at the halfway point of the race, resting his tyres for a battle towards the final stage. On Lap 13, Jorge Martin still leads the pack around Assen, but Raul Fernandez has come extremely close to snatching the lead. He is just 0.2s behind and is faster on average in each lap than the rest of the Aprilia roster.
While running in sixth place, Pedro Acosta ran wide at Turn 1, and began to slow down but rejoined the pack safely. He did, however, drop to 12th place and forfeited from the battle with the Ducati duo. A lap later, he entered the pit lane and was forced to retire from the race.
On Lap 14, the battle for fourth place was won by Francesco Bagnaia as he looks to climb onto the podium. However, he also began to slow down and has lost a handful of positions, dropping to 12th place too before retiring from the race.

MARTIN LEADS COMFORTABLY WHILE DUCATI SCRAPS BEHIND
At the front of the pack, Jorge Martin is defending well from a speedy Raul Fernandez who hopes to take back-to-back wins. The Trackhouse rider has closed the gap to Martin to 0.5s, and waits eagerly behind to pounce.
The battle behind is as thrilling as ever, with Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta trading places with each lap. Their battle has been interrupted by Francesco Bagnaia, who looks to redeem his lost position during the Sprint race yesterday.
This scrap for a potential position on the podium is allowing the rest of the pack to catch up, with Fabio Di Giannantonio closing in on Acosta in sixth place. His teammate, Franco Morbidelli spun out of the race at Turn 4 and has retired from the race.
Behind, Toprak Razgatlioglu has done well to climb 11 places from his qualifying spot and tails behind Fabio Quartararo looking for a spot in the top ten.

BATTLE FOR FOURTH BETWEEN OGURA, ACOSTA, AND MARQUEZ INGITED
Marco Bezzecchi has been taken to the medical centre to be checked after crashing out of the race at over 80km/h.
However, the battle for fourth place has been ignited with Pedro Acosta coming into play. The KTM rider has gained three places so far and sets his sights on Ai Ogura currently running in fourth place on Lap 5. Acosta crept behind, trailing behind the Aprilia, while waiting to make his move.
Marc Marquez, however, looks to be holding up Ogura and Acosta as he struggles into the tight corners. Ogura swept past Marquez in the final corner of Lap 5, leaving him under pressure from his pending teammate.
Acosta was then able to shoot past the seven-time world champion as he struggles with his recovery from his shoulder injury.

BEZZECCHI CRASHES OUT OF THE RACE AT TRICKY TURN 15
Heading into Lap 2, Marc Marquez managed to jump the Trackhouse duo briefly, sweeping around the inside of the Aprilia bikes on the first corner. He slotted right into second place after claiming the Aprilia bikes are untouchable.
Marco Bezzecchi had a massive crash at Turn 15, spinning out of the corner and retiring from the race. He had been struggling with the bike since the start of the weekend, and now the championship leader is down.
Meanwhile, Raul Fernandez was able to snatch second place back from Marc Marquez heading into Lap 4, leaving Marquez sandwiched between the Trackhouse duo. The Sprint winner is currently the fastest rider on the track.

MARTIN LEADS THE PACK AROUND ASSEN
The polesitter Jorge Martin got off to a great start but was forced to defend hard from Ai Ogura, who repeated his sneaky overtake at the first corner on Martin. There was a quick switch heading into Turn 2 with Jorge Martin regaining the lead of the race.
Yesterday's Sprint winner overtook Marco Bezzecchi off the line to slot in right behind his teammate, seeming to struggle with the tyre temperature on the opening lap.
Meanwhile, Joan Mir crashed out of the opening lap at Turn 10 while the Ducati duo of Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez scrapped it out heading into the second lap.

WARM UP LAP
The riders have set off on the warm up lap. As the temperature starts to creep up, most riders have opted for a medium front tyre while a handful of riders are going for a soft tyre. The race will be tricky and demanding, but will certainly be a show-stopper.

FIVE MINUTES TO GO
There are just five minutes to go until the Grand Prix Netherlands gets underway. Aprilia are the favourites for the victory, but which of the riders will come out on top?
Racing conditions are absolutely perfect, with the track temperature resting at 40°C, as the riders line up on the grid.

MARQUEZ ON OVERHAULING APRILIA’S DOMINANCE
The seven-time world champion gave a blunt answer to the press when asked about whether Ducati can fight for the win today. With Aprilia dominating the Sprint race yesterday, securing four of the top five spots.
Although Ducati has been hailed as having the better bike this season, Aprilia have knocked them out of the park in Assen. Marquez managed to finish in seventh place during the Sprint race, but was bumped up to sixth after his teammate Francesco Bagnaia was penalised for exceeding track limits.
Asked if he could overturn the deficit in the full-length race on Sunday, shown live on TNT Sports and HBO Max, he said: "Er… no!"

TRACKHOUSE IS THE BIG WINNER
It was no surprise that Aprilia were incredible during the Sprint yesterday, but it was an even bigger surprise that the satellite team outperformed the factory team.
With Raul Fernandez picking up the victory yesterday, he led a 1-2 finish for the team with Ai Ogura coming home in second place. It was the first time in the satellite team’s history that they occupied the first two spots on the podium.
The big question today is whether the Trackhouse duo will perform better in a longer stint than Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi. The current championship leader, Bezzecchi, was fastest in the warm up session this morning, followed by Ogura.
Stay tuned for what could be a brilliant race this afternoon!

HODGSON COLUMN: ‘APRILIA HAVE WORKED SO HARD’
TNT Sports pundit Neil Hodgson was left impressed by the commitment of manufacturer Aprilia after their four top spots on the grid resulted in a one-two for Trackhouse duo Raul Fernandez - who won - and Ai Ogura.
Fernandez was least fancied of the four Aprilia riders ahead of the weekend, but the Italian manufacturer dominated proceedings at the race in Assen. Ogura has featured prominently in many of the races so far this season, without delivering a race win yet.
