BAGNAIA STORMS TO SPRINT VICTORY IN MALAYSIA
Francesco Bagnaia claimed a lights-to-flag win at the Sepang International Circuit, finishing over two seconds ahead of his closest challenger, Alex Marquez.
Marquez, whose result solidifies him as second in the championship, crossed the line ahead of his Gresini teammate Fermin Aldeguer, the Rookie of the Year completing the podium.
Pedro Acosta originally challenged Marquez for second after passing Franco Morbidelli off the line, but dropped back as Aldeguer worked his way up the field, making a lunge past Acosta on lap eight.
The Spanish KTM rider finished in fourth, ahead of Morbidelli who rounded off the top five finishers after dropping from third.
It was a tough day for Joan Mir, who made a fantastic start to get up into fourth. But while Aldeguer and Morbidelli did battle on lap five, Mir went down and retired from the race.
Miguel Oliveira also crashed out, along with Luca Marini who went down following contact with Pol Espargaro.

BAGNAIA: 'I'M TRYING SOMETHING DIFFERENT'
Francesco Bagnaia has claimed his second Sprint victory of the year, which follows a difficult weekend in Australia. When asked "Is Bagnaia back?", he light-heartedly refused to comment, but was still happy with his performance.
He said: "Happy. The team is deserving those results because I think I'm in trouble, but they are in trouble too to understand the situation.
"It's not clear, it's not easy. One week ago, we were struggling. Yesterday I was struggling a bit, today I'm competitive.
"We just need to figure out what this kind of situation is, because I think no one in the past ever felt something like this.
"We just need to focus, understand the situation, and try to work like we did this weekend.
"I'm trying something different that right now is giving to me more feeling."

"Being rookie of the year was one of our goals for this season. Today we completed.
"We were super close in Australia, but with a bad race, for sure I'm more happy to be here.

"We have to be super happy. Thank you to all the Gresini team, thank you to my family, thank you to all my fan club.
"Tomorrow we have another chance."
