MARC MARQUEZ RECOVERS TO WIN ON SATURDAY
It’s a perfect day on paper for Marc Marquez, who converts his record-breaking 100th pole position in Italy. It wasn’t an easy ride for the #93, who battled through the pack following some issues at the start!
Marc Marquez hit the front at the start of the fourth lap, overtaking his brother Alex in a stunning turn one move. He then pulled the pin, stretching a margin and leaving Alex and Bagnaia to fight for the podium.
Alex Marquez would defeat Francesco Bagnaia at the line, remaining unstoppable throughout the Sprint. This would leave the Italian in third, forcing Bagnaia to look for a new plan for Sunday.
Further back, Maverick Vinales and Fabio Di Giannantonio took the final spots inside the top five following a dramatic battle.
Elsewhere, Franco Morbidelli took seventh position, leaving Raul Fernandez in eighth position as Fermin Aldeguer finished inside the points in ninth.
Meanwhile, it was a tough Sprint for Fabio Quartararo, who finished in 10th position after starting from the second row. Quartararo struggled with top speed throughout and could still be feeling the effects of his Friday crash.
After the Sprint race at Mugello, Marc Marquez holds a 35-point advantage over his brother Alex following a maximum point score on Saturday.
Now, attention turns to Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix with lights out at 13:00 (GMT) as the #93 aims for a better start!

MARC MARQUEZ: "NOT OUR MAIN TARGET"
Following an epic recovering ride, Marc Marquez talked us through his issue at the start and what the plan was ahead of today!
"I don’t know what happened exactly at the start, well, I do know what happened because the launch control was in, and then I took off, and then I put it in again and lost loads of positions.
"We put on a lot of good show out there and won the Sprint race, which was not the main target. The main target was to try and not lose a lot of points, but I hope the Italian fans enjoyed the show because the comeback was super nice!"

ALEX MARQUEZ: "TOMORROW WILL BE A LONG RACE"
After finishing as runner-up in the Sprint, Alex Marquez gave his thoughts on tomorrow’s Grand Prix as he expects tyres to play a big part.
"I tried in the beginning, when I was at the front, I said ‘Ok, I have to go to the front and try not to overheat the front tyre’.
"The first corner was very nice, with all three of us parallel, it was super nice. I pushed maybe a little bit too much, not the way I need to push in these hot conditions with the tyre.
"But anyway, I tried it and this is the thing which we need to do, I’m happy with the Sprint race. Tomorrow will be a long race, but we are ready for it!"
14:35
BAGNAIA: "I FEEL A BIT DISAPPOINTED"
Following another third place finish, Bagnaia gave his immediate thoughts after the Italian Sprint.
"I feel a bit disappointed; I wanted to give a bit more to this amazing crowd, but unfortunately, this season I can’t do what I know to do.
"It’s a bit of a shame, but it is what it is; we are trying to work and solve the problems. I will try to use all the information tomorrow to try and give something more."

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez had a storming recovery, being very aggressive in the opening corners, leaping his way back into the podium positions.
Further back, Brad Binder and Johann Zarco have collided, and it looks like it’ll be the end to both of their Sprints!
