THE MARQUEZ BROTHERS DOMINATE AGAIN
Marc Marquez and his brother Alex Marquez once again showcased their dominance in the sprint format, securing their sixth consecutive 1-2 finish.
Fabio Quartararo started from pole and initially controlled the race, pulling out a lead of over half a second on Marc Marquez in second place.
But by lap 4, Marquez had closed the gap and patience prevailed as he managed to find his way round Quartararo.
But he ran wide, and opened the door for Quartararo who retook the lead into turn 5. But it was short-lived as a pacey Marc Marquez snatched back the lead with a clean move at Turn 8.
Pedro Acosta looked set for a podium finish but crashed at the penultimate corner, gifting Fermin Aldeguer his first-ever podium.
With the win, Marc Marquez returns to the top of the championship standings heading into Sunday’s main race in France.
The race gets underway at 13:00 GMT with Fabio Quartararo on pole.
