It was all smiles for the Marquez family at the Grand Prix Argentina as the Marquez brothers dominated all weekend.
Marc Marquez claimed back-to-back wins in glorious fashion, snatching the lead back from brother Alex in the closing stages of the race.
His momentous victory earned him a fourth victory at the Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo, and equaled Angel Nieto’s record for most class wins (90).
Alex Marquez settled for silver once again but is closer than ever to achieving his maiden MotoGP victory, sitting second in the riders’ standings for the first time.
Happiness extends to the VR46 camp as Franco Morbidelli stands on the podium for the first time in four years, earning a well-deserved third-place finish.

MARC MARQUEZ: "DIFFICULT TO ATTACK YOUR BROTHER"
Yet another record-breaking weekend for Marc Marquez in what looks to be his season, the six-time world champ executed a perfect strategy to usurp the lead from brother Alex in the final moments of the Grand Prix Argentina.
Marquez claimed his fourth victory at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo, smashing the track's record for most victories as well as equaling motorcycling legend Angel Nieto for most class wins (90).
Marc Marquez said: "Super happy to achieve, to equal Angel Nieto, and this victory is for him and for all his family, because he was super important for Spanish motorcycle racing and also in the World Championship.
"The race was amazing today. Push, today. Push, I went out and from the beginning, the confidence was not super good with the rear.
"I had a few problems there, but, but yeah, then I saw that Alex was pushing, was controlling the race. And yeah, I say, okay, P2 today will be okay.
"But in the end, I started to feel better and better. I started to feel less pushing on the throttle, and then with this tyre, it was better.
"It's difficult to attack your brother. I tried one time, and I just released the brakes because I didn't know it was sure to stop the bike.
"But then on the second time, I prepared a little bit better, but super impressed with the level of Alex during these two races, an incredible ride."

ALEX MARQUEZ: "CLOSER THAN EVER TO MY FIRST WIN"
Although Alex Marquez led the majority of the Grand Prix Argentina, he was usurped for the victory by his brother Marc Marquez once again.
Alex managed to snatch the lead from Marc after he slipped up early in the race, but something as simple as a slipstream is what handed Marc the win after laps on laps of tailing.
The Gresini rider, however, is looking as strong as ever as he sits in second place in the Riders' standings and has earned back-to-back podium finishes.
Marquez said: "I was so happy. You know, I eat all the mosquitoes. The track was full of mosquitoes everywhere.
"I mean, yeah, when Marc ran wide on Turn 3, I say, 'okay, I can lead, I have the rhythm, so I go for it.
"I know that behind somebody, you save a lot of time, especially here, under Turn 6, 11, and all that.
"And it's, you know, I was trying just to control the gap with the second group, trying to be really consistent, trying to be in a high gap and high rhythm.
"So I gave my everything. And yeah, finally, Marc took me.
"I tried, when he wore out a little bit on Turn 5, to push again at Turn 3, but it was impossible to keep him behind.
"But I'm really happy, I think we are close. We're closer than ever to my first win, so we need to keep going like that."

MORBIDELLI: "I HAVE A CONNECTION WITH THIS PLACE"
Franco Morbidelli is set to stand on the podium for the first time in 1414 days.
The VR46 rider put on an excellent defensive display to hold off the two-time world champion and earn his podium position in four years.
Morbidelli said: "It's beautiful, it's beautiful because the team has a connection with this place and I have a connection with this place.
"It's wonderful to have this kind of performance today, and this kind of podium today on this track.
"It was beautiful."

MARQUEZ FEASTS ON GLORY IN ARGENTINA
Marc Marquez has had a glorious weekend in Argentina, continuing a spectacular Ducati Lenovo debut by winning four out of four races so far this season.
Marquez has smashed multiple records this weekend, including the track's lap record, win record, and now equaling MotoGP legend Angel Nieto for 90 class wins.
His victory extended his lead at the top of the Riders' standings while proving the power of the factory Ducati bike.
Claiming consecutive wins this season, Marquez is off to an amazing start as he asserts himself as the rider to beat in 2025.

MARC MARQUEZ SNATCHES THE LEAD BACK
Unwilling to let go, Marc Marquez closes in on Alex once again with just six laps to go. He refuses to give his brother a chance and attempts to set up overtakes all over the track. Hoping for a Turn 5 overtake, Marc Marquez follows the slipstream to the limit and tails his brother for three turns until he snatches back the lead. Pulling off the move from the outside line, Marc lunges and sticks the landing by Turn 5.
Immediately after regaining the lead, Marc starts to pull away from his brother Alex. By Lap 22, Marc managed to create a 1.5s gap to the Gresini rider. Close behind, Franco Morbidelli is running in third place after pulling away from the factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia.
Bagnaia's lap times seem to have fallen off after gaining some time on the VR46 rider, and it could give Morbidelli his first podium since 2021. His teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio is sitting in sixth place, defending hard from Brad Binder.
Ai Ogura follows Binder around the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo, coasting his bike through the final few laps to save his tyres.

MARC ALMOST HAD IT, BUT ALEX PREVAILED
The brothers are now riding ridiculously close to one another as Marc Marquez refuses to give Alex any leeway. Providing no space at all, Marc hugs the rear of the Gresini as he sits just 0.1s behind Alex Marquez who may be struggling with his tyre wear.
Marc almost had the overtake on Alex around Turn 11 on Lap 17 but a slight wobble forced him to abandon the move. However, he stays disturbingly close to the Gresini and tails him throughout the circuit. Marc gains an incredible amount of speed on the straight and manages to briefly overtake Alex around the inside of Turn 5 on Lap 18.
He immediately lost the lead after running far too wide into the next corner, handing Alex the position straight back. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia began to close on Franco Morbidelli who stole third place from the two-time world champ earlier in the race. Bagnaia is consistently gaining speed, but it may not be enough as Morbidelli seems to be much quicker in the corners.

ALEX HOLDING TIGHT ONTO LEAD
Alex Marquez looks comfortable in the lead as he pulls away from Marc Marquez, holding a safe distance from the factory Ducati rider. Although Marc gains a heap of time back in the final sector of the track, Alex builds up a strong enough gap in the first two sectors to hold him off.
In the midfield, battles are all over the place. Joan Mir has set his sights on Pedro Acosta for ninth place, hoping to score some crucial points for Honda. He guides teammate Luca Marini around the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo as they employ a team plan to hopefully get the duo into the points-scoring positions.
Ai Ogura shows off his skills as he manages to hold tight onto the rear of Fabio Di Giannantonio who can't seem to break free of the young Japanese rider. A four-way line looks to be forming as Brad Binder leads Di Giannantonio, Ogura, and Acosta around the circuit.
Groups are forming on track as the top two separate themselves from the best of the rest, pulling over a second away from the others. Just behind, Franco Morbidelli and Francesco Bagnaia have formed another pairing as they have also created a gap to Johann Zarco sitting in fifth place.
At the front of the pack, Alex Marquez wobbles around Turn 11 on Lap 15. He retains his position but Marc rides extremely close to the Gresini rider.

MIDFIELD BATTLES FOR CRUCIAL POINTS WHILE ALEX LEADS
Marc Marquez is regaining some time on his brother who usurped his lead, making up pace in the final sector whereas his brother Alex gains most of his speed in the second sector. The pack are more bunched up than expected, with the top ten riders on Lap 9 all riding less than a second from one another.
Brad Binder is targeting a top five finish for KTM, setting his sights on Johann Zarco who holds the position. Binder has gained five places from his starting position, hoping to redeem his DNF from the sprint yesterday. Zarco just set a personal best lap but it might not be enough because Binder is right on his tail.
Behind, a battle ensues for seventh place as Ai Ogura fires himself into the picture. Climbing from 15th place to eighth by Lap 10, Ogura attempted a bold move on Fabio Di Giannantonio but the VR46 rider rode a slipstream from Binder into safety.

ALEX RETAINS LEAD BUT MARC FOLLOWS CLOSELY
Alex Marquez gained a half second lead on his brother by Lap 5 after snatching the lead a lap earlier. Putting in the fastest lap of the race, the Gresini rider leads the race in what could be his maiden MotoGP victory. Marc Marquez's rare error calls into question the temperature and grip of his tyres, as he sped away in the sprint yesterday in far cooler conditions.
Left-hand corners are much easier to wear away tyres, according to Michelin. As the race is almost 10 degrees warmer than yesterday, we may see the nature of the race completely change. In between the tyre talk, Francesco Bagnaia has lost a position to Franco Morbidelli who managed to pull off a double overtake including Johann Zarco too.

ALEX SNATCHES THE LEAD ON LAP 4
The second lap opened with more chaos as Enea Bastianini had a tumble in Sector 2, running wide into the gravel and dropping from 15th to last. His teammate Maverick Vinales also struggles with gaining temperature in his tyres, sitting in 16th place fighting with Raul Fernandez.
Marc Marquez held the lead of the race on Lap 3, while Alex Marquez tailed closely behind as they began to pull away from the rest of the pack. In similar fashion to the sprint yesterday, Francesco Bagnaia fell short of the Marquez's pace.
In a rare slip-up from the six-time world champion, Marc Marquez ran wide heading into Sector 2 on Lap 4 and handed the lead to his brother. Alex stormed past Marc to lead the pack around the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo.

MARQUEZ BROTHERS BATTLE OFF THE LINE
The Marquez brothers both got off to an amazing start, fighting off the line before chaos unfolded behind. Alex Marquez stormed down the starting straight and held the inside line briefly, before his older brother Marc Marquez defended hard to retain pole position.
Marco Bezzecchi went down heading into the first turn after a clash with Fabio Quartararo, and shortly retired from the race. At the front of the pack, Johann Zarco sparked up a battle with the two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia for third place. Diving deep into Turn 13, Zarco almost snatched third place from Bagnaia but abandoned the move in the final moment.
Rookie Ai Ogura gained five places on the opening lap, jumping from 15th to 10th place in the hunt for another top five finish.

FIVE MINUTES TO GO...
The riders have taken their starting positions on the grid and are all set for the Grand Prix Argentina. The conditions are much better than yesterday during the Sprint, which blew a cool breeze and left remnants of rain all over the circuit.
Although the clouds covering the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo appear dark, there are no signs of incoming rain.
The track is 35°C, the warmest it has been all weekend in what could be a radically different race from the Sprint yesterday.

ALEX MARQUEZ: MARC WAS A "CONSTANT MASTERCLASS"
Alex Marquez took the challenge as close as possible to his brother Marc during the Sprint yesterday, but in the end he settled for silver.
Today he fills the second slot on the front row and hopes to earn his maiden MotoGP victory, and to do so he must overtake his brother for the lead.
After the sprint, Marquez said: "I don’t think it will change your race very much whether you go to the soft or the medium rear tyre, so it’s about changing your approach to the race and the points at which you can attack.
"Now after the sprint we have more information and it will be a bit clearer what we need to try tomorrow morning. It’s nice to be this close, like a constant masterclass over 12 laps.
"But I saw he was more on the limit compared to Thailand. Because in Thailand, when he overtook us, it was like ‘ciao!’ But here he was more on the limit and suffering a little bit more.
"I was not at any moment close enough to be able to attack him…he was fast into Turn 2 and Turn 5 but I was recovering into Turn 3 and Turn 6.
"Later on, he was slightly faster in Turn 7 and Turn 8. So it was not enough. The pace was too high to try to overtake him, and he didn’t make any big mistake."

HOW ARE THE ROOKIES DOING?
Three riders are kicking off their MotoGP debuts this season, including Ai Ogura, Fermin Aldeguer, and Somkiat Chandra.
Ogura got off to an amazing start in Thailand, making headlines when he took the fight straight to two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia. The Japanese rider secured the best qualifying and race results for a rookie in six years, finishing in the top five in both races.
In Argentina, however, he finished in 15th place during the Sprint race. Fellow rookies Fermin Aldeguer and Somkiat Chandra suffered a similar disappointment in their second round, with Aldeguer finishing last on the grid.
Aldeguer earned his first MotoGP penalty for a crash with Miguel Oliveira, sending him to the back of the field. Chandra was absent throughout the Sprint and finished in 17th place.
Will a full race distance impact the rookies’ performance?

DO WE NEED THE REIGNING CHAMP BACK?
Things are looking great for the factory Ducati team, maybe even too great. Marc Marquez has so far won everything on offer on his Ducati Lenovo debut, from smashing lap records to claiming three wins so far.
In what looks to be a season for Ducati, it calls for the return of the reigning world champion, Jorge Martin, to spice up the races. However, he has confirmed his absence from the premier class for the foreseeable future. Martin confirmed that his recovery from surgery has not been as speedy as he hoped, and he will not race in Austin.
With uncertainty surrounding Martin’s return, could he fall too far behind the pack to catch up? If any rider can speedily make up points in a title fight, it’s the Martinator - but that all depends on how far into the season he returns.

ALL ABOUT ARGENTINA
Argentina has been a staple on the MotoGP calendar since the early 1960s, initially racing at the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez. In 2014 the Grand Prix Argentina was switched to the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo, where MotoGP raced for five years until the pandemic hit.
Returning to Argentina after a year off, fans are treated to a track spanning 4.81km with a kilometer-long straight. There are nine right-handers and five left-handers, with amazing overtaking opportunities in the middle sector.
Yesterday's gloomy weather made conditions a little tricky for the pack, with a cooling breeze and threats of rain lingering on the cool surface. The Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo has low-grip, especially in Turns 4 and 5, so pay close attention to the speed in which riders take into the corner.

HOW THE SPRINT WENT
Six-time world champion Marc Marquez claimed his first victory in Argentina for the first time in six years after besting brother Alex Marquez during the Sprint.
Marquez has extended his season-opening winning streak to Argentina after collecting all three consecutive victories up for grabs.
Although Alex Marquez was the quickest rider on track, he could not challenge Marc for the victory as he made up speed in the final sector.
Alex finished ahead of Ducati Lenovo rider Francesco Bagnaia who completed the all-Ducati podium, picking up crucial points in the championship.
Marc also added 12 points to his lead in the Riders' standings, which follows the order of today's podium.
